Version 20.06 - General Feedback

For me the single biggest issue is the delay in Overview ‘Selected Item’ icons appearing. It is practically a showstopper…

To give an example. I undock from a station…I select the Elonaya system stargate from the list of objects to jump to, and normally the list of icons in ‘Selected Item’ such as ‘Align’, ‘Jump’, etc would appear instantly on clicking on a selection in Overview…but after the update there is now a delay of up to several seconds before any such icons appear.

This renders fast align/warp times utterly useless. What’s the point of having a 3 second align time if it now takes an additional 3 seconds for the ‘Jump’ icon to appear when you select where to jump to ??

When I am doing multiple jumps, and I have it so that the gate to jump to is automatically at the top of the list, I am literally holding the cursor right over where the ‘Jump’ icon will appear…waiting for it to do so in order that I can get away from the gate as fast as possible. When it takes several seconds for that icon to appear…that makes me open to being targetted.

The appearance of the icons ought to be instant on selecting any item in the Overview.

Feedback:

  • Too dark
  • Runs like a dog
  • BRM/DBS not fixed
  • Cap indy not fixed
  • Scarcity not fixed

Only thing you’ll be evolving into is a much smaller MMO.

Stop clinging to the notion that you laid foundations over the last 2 years, you did not, you broke your game by removing vast amounts of content and are too stubborn to admit it and do something about it. You’ll realise, probably too late.

Consider yourself lucky. All I see is dark space, no nebulas visible. Everything in space is very dark, ships, stations, any structures, gates, even Sun is very dark and dim. Great visuals really :expressionless:

I wouldn’t call these textures “high-res”. How about implementing som new 8K textures or something similar to Unreal Engine 5 Nanite?

Here’s a pixture I took of the Amarr station I’m currently docked at. All graphics settings are maxed out:

It’s clear that this is not very high res. Yes, I used my in game camera to zoom in on the texture.

Better, however i still get graphic issues after i wake up my monitor. My dual screens fresh/flash right after moving the mouse and then this happens when EVE client is display.

This happens to most icons, text or sometime I dont get to see the stations or ship.

Just general feedback, idk if its been posted but for the air career it would be nice if certain past activities were accounted for such as joining a corp, beating an epic arc, these are really the only 2 outliers that would make the experience better. All other paths seem to be fine.

It was working up till new update i dont get what they have done to remove this feature

I can not run 2 characters at once, 2 minures of coming on line both screens lock up. I can not close either, or have the dock back into station. Never had this problem before, and not sure if its just me.

The launcher on macOS now seems to do pop-up notifications, and doesn’t have an option to turn this off.

After new patch today my game (Ships + Hangar + Gates) still blink/flashing!

Please fix it!

So far I only noticed that my clients run worse than prepatch and many of them freeze and crash. Eve actually crashed my computer for the first time also. Gratz, you messed up highsec with peace periods and HQs, ruined fan fest and now… im wondering whats next.
Can we just start by not giving all of of trash on log to clean up and throw away? Stop using RED DOTS and make buttons to revert the game back to 2015.

Lossmails don’t seem to show in notifications on macOS

I see this in notification settings, not sure if it’s related:

While balance changes to concord beacons are appreciated and making those a bit harder to run for carriers is perfectly fine, the parameters have been wayyyy overadjusted.

Rats spawned by concord beacons will IMMEDIATELY swap to any fighter the very moment they are launched and oneshot at least one fighter even if the pilot tries pulling them back at once…making it functionally impossible to run these sites in carriers or supers.

The biggest threat for those comes from pvp. look at the supers dying left and right from whaling fleets. there is no need to make them impossible to complete.

tldr: rats instalock fighters the moment they enter grid with them and oneshot them. not cool.

the super is right next to the beacon in this case, not “off grid” as the patch notes say. they still instalock fighters and oneshot them

I find it exceptionally annoying that I can’t hit escape to go back up a level when navigating through the AIR Career program interface. Instead, I have to click on the center ring of stuff, which mostly adds additional clutter to the interface.

Anyway, I still need to go through all of this stuff, but I really, really like how you’re encouraging PvP from the get go, and normalizing ship loss. :+1: Hopefully, it will help fight against the PvP readiness fallacy and people viewing lost ships as lost progression, and get people thinking about risk management strats early.

This seems like one of those things that is obvious to people that are familiar with something, but can be confusing to someone who isn’t. I know it’s not a super big deal, and I’m sure most players will figure it out, but it’s also unnecessarily complicated for no good reason.

It’s for newbros -just set the objective to completing the SoE Epic Arc specifically, and make it easy for them to set desto when they track the objective.

You know, there are people out there who indeed use the number pad over the little rodent all the time … because it’s way faster … if it’s not buggy :slight_smile:
