Version 20.11 - General Feedback

It’s funny because I spent the better part of the afternoon mining out said rocks on an alt in a HS system full of mining fleets. Two other people managed to notice and pop in for a bit. Guessing the rest were unaware of the change. I thnik they need to go back and read again what CCP wrote about where these ore belts will and won’t appear.

Open the Agency - Resource Harvesting - Ore Anomalies. You’re looking for 0.5 systems and once found, right-click and show info. If the system borders lowsec or is a highsec island it will very likely be one of the new ore belts. Go into overview settings and tick beacons to see the ore belts appear on overview with an ore belt icon. These belts do not appear, in the probe scanner, like other anomalies. Also, be aware, they are very dense like moon ores.

With this patch, you move the “Agents” tab in the NPC station service window into the 2nd position, and the “Guests” tab in first position, and thus the default we see. Considering people use NPC stations for missions, and will want to interact with agents, can you please revert back this change, or at least allow the players to chose whatever tab position they want instead of forcing it?
Thanks

Yep, I found some myself.

But “his people” couldn’t find any

I’m sure they didn’t read the sun part…

User Interface

It is now possible to move the Hacking window by dragging the top of the window.

This is a very good start which should have been implemented years ago…

Next step now is to implement the ability to resize it…

As I said. Download your overview settings into a file. If you are talking about disabling Photon UI as a whole, that literally only takes like 20 seconds.

Please don’t. I really do not like that idea.

c o m p a c t m o d e sheesh!

Ah, another set of moronic shilling on behalf of CCP. Bravo.

CCP asked for feedback. You may have your opinion, and are entitled to it. But in a thread like this, offer your feedback to CCP, not snidely criticise other people’s perfectly legitimate feedback.

My apologies. I did not indend to be snide. I was merely attempting to help people potentially find solutions to theur problems that are already implemented. I guess the sheesh comment was a tad uncalled for, huh…

Not a fan at all of the gated ice mining sites in lowsec that only let carebear ships inside. This erases a very very big amount of the risk associated with this activity.

If you are so desperate to get inside and attack “carebears” you do seem to lack the imagination to comprehend how to do this…

New player - apologies if these are know issues.

  1. Regional Market Bug - When you view an item in the market, either by “view market details” or by selecting the item in the regional market browse tab, the “groups” tab on the right is not updated to the group of the currently selected item until you either collapse and expand the group in the “browse” tab, or click the “Find group in Browse tab” button (the crosshairs).

  2. Market “Groups” tab scrolling bug(?): The Market “Groups” tab scrolls in huge intervals, (the slightest bit of scrolling moves the text an entire page or more) making the list nearly impossible to read. Ideally the tab would scroll smoothly, but one or a couple lines at a time would also work (or you could make the scrolling interval user-configurable). As-is, scrolling the smallest amount possible makes the text at the bottom of the tab scroll all the way off the top of the tab so you can’t even tell where you’ve jumped to.
Edit: It appears that each scroll tick is 1/10th of the entire groups list, which is fine for groups that only have a dozen items, but if you look at larger groups (like most ship mod groups), the problem becomes more apparent.

  3. Suggestion: The UI scrollbars are generally too narrow to be clickable, and they’re very hard to see until you mouse over them (even in normal mode). Ideally, scrollbar width would be configurable.

  4. Suggestion: The game settings (Esc window) is poorly organized. IMO, the General Settings tab should be the first tab on the left, and there should be a dedicated “UI Settings” tab instead of having UI settings scattered across various tabs (e.g. UI scaling is in the “graphics” tab). Half of the “general settings” are UI settings, and a few are gameplay settings, but none are organized as such so it’s a mess and hard to find anything.

I realize the Photon UI is still in “feature preview” stage, and not to offend anyone at CCP, but as a fellow programmer, I think it might be worth investing in some additional UI design training or possibly hiring or consulting a veteran UI design specialist to fix and avoid a lot of these UI design problems and really take Photon to the next level.

Its easy to get inside

Peeps were also camping the gates last time.

What an amazing response! I am impressed at your level of comprehension of this game as a self-referred “new player”.

Also, welcome.

Look up “Battleproc”

Procurers are schnasty combat ships.

The Photon UI seems to have improved. The multiple Overviews is great. Good job.

The graphics for EveOnline while sitting inside a Keepstar are out of this world, totally next generation for even low settings using just 3% GPU (1 x Client just 6.7% Mem) Rather Impressed will be my feedback.

Rediscovering that Carrot

“Total mining yields of moon mining structures have been reduced by 25%.”

Scarcity 2.0 in full effect is see.

To the NPE Team:

Please teach Aura that combat drones fitted to a Venture (or Corvette) are indeed combat weapons. it’s annoying when I run through the Career Agents and constantly have Aura telling me to go back and fit a weapon and the flashing on the UI telling me to go back to the career agents system when i’m in the middle of a 10 jump round-trip mission. Annoying, for me, because i know what I’m doing but for actual new players it is probably confusing. That’s my nitpick with the NPE, everything else seems fine. I like the improvements you’ve made with rewards as well, much better.

[MacOS Ventura]

Anyone else experiencing really sluggish client performance since this patch was applied?

My FPS tool tells me I have a normal FPS (~50FPS on my computer) yet the Client slows my entire computer (while it’s visible), and when I was typing the bug report submitted, I was only able to type one key per 2 seconds to see each character (or type-ahead was burst displaying my typing every 1-2 seconds).

My computer’s responsiveness returns to normal the moment I minimise the Eve Client.

Your old UI

vs

We are not the same. Photon UI craps all over the old UI. Don’t @ me.
