On top of this, the entire UI is confusing. There is no clear separation between the Homefront portion and the Agent Missions portion. I get confused regularly by the “Browse by Career” part because I think this part is a separate category that will show you all kinds of different activities for each career. But contrary to that expectation, it only shows Homefront stuff. This should be sorted and organized better and separated more clearly from each other.
But as it stands, Photon again does not stand up to its promises of a better, easier to use and easier to understand UI. Quite the contrary, it’s convoluted, wasteful and confusing.
Hm, guess my memory betrayed me then. Thought this was different in the past. Been away for a while. I do not understand such “design” decisions, there is zero space saved by not showing all three information at all times. You could even display them horizontically next to each other and still have loads of space left, even reduce the height of the spacer by doing so. When i see such, my head just goes “why why why why?”.
For the range: jumps never really made sense to me. It should be lightyears instead if you speak of a distance you can manage your jobs from. But yes: if jumps are used, things like bridges should be taken into account, right?
Maybe this is a placebo, but the FPS issue I mention is compounded with the new update. Before, frames would drop if the game had to cut off text from an existing overview. Now, it happens regardless even after resetting. Trying to edit stuff is a chore.
Maybe this is unrelated to this update specifically but I still don’t like that there’s a 16-character limit to the overview tabs. It just seems like a redundant restriction.
This is me since I started to critique Photon, and to a much lesser extent even before that (judging by the number of LT/QOL suggestions by my chars).
Light years as range could indeed be interesting, but I guess it’s too difficult to pull off. That’s why we still have no accessible indication about how many light years (or AU because the distance is measured in AU) away your respective Asset Safety location is, and you still have to use that Pastebin list to figure it out.
If they do that, they’d probably have to make a new tooltip for the Control Range, in which they tell you how many light years you are away from the location. It would also require a range bubble like the jump drive range bubble on the map (or better yet a colored star dot for accurate range indication instead of the ambiguous bubble) that tells you which systems are in control range of a given facility. This would already be a godsend for the current range measured by gates, too.
Not exactly a fan of the Plasma explosion. It’s still too faint, too small compared to the huge explosion effects of the other missile types. Basically the same as before.
Keepstars and Sotiyos, can no longer be anchored in High-Security space.
This is a terrible change. The issue is markets. Ban market modules from highsec, it’s FUN to see these big structures deployed. Just get rid of what causes the actual benefit, if someone wants to deploy one for shits and giggles, let them. You havn’t solved the problem, people can still drop a Fort, and the issue isn’t killing the keepstar, it’s that the people who defend it are everyone from nullsec. The same problem will happen with Fortizars. The issue isn’t mechanics, it’s social. IF you want to solve this from a mechanics point of view you need to ban Fortizars as well, or market modules. The better approach would be to ban the module and allow Keeps continuing to be anchored if people want to.
also a sincere Thank You, CCP for the best game affecting change in the Viridian expansion. Now, if only we could bring in the big tools needed to remove them for once and for all, but perhaps you have something in the works for that too ?
Loyalty Points in corporation Loyalty Point wallets can be donated to any other corporation.
EverMarks are excluded from being traded between corporations.
Being unable to transfer Evermarks is a little limited.
Many alliances can tend to have a specific structure holding corp that doesn’t have many members and some even have the Structure holding corp outside the alliance.
That can often be a 1 or 2 member corp.
So not likely that corp is going to have many Evermarks to waste on the new structure skins.
Yet another situation where the developers are out of touch with how people have had to adapt to play the game and deal with other stupid mechanics and changes.
There is a audio bug where pirate radio chatter is stuck even after all npc ships are dead and you warp off and dock. This is just another one case when audio playback is stuck, it was happening with two instances of combat music playing over each other or engine warp sound continuously playing while you are sitting still in space or while you are docked, sometimes even after ship change and only fix was restarting client.
Did you guys change the audio that plays in the background while docked in stations? If so, thank you. It’s nice to hear something different in the station.
This doesn’t solve the underlying problem (Markets) as they can still be done at Fortizars. Also, you don’t need big tools to remove them. Nullsec have removed them without the need for capitals.
This is the tankiest a Keepstar can be. And it was done with Sub caps. (the titan was bought in for fun when it’s hull was at 5% and the enemy fleets warped off and evac’d system, based on it’s damage it could have been replaced by 2 leshaks.)
Point is, This just removes what are some cool structures for people to look at, It doesn’t resolve the underlying issues of Markets managed by players and social based “Agreements” to maintain the monopoly. Trust me, if this change didn’t exist, Drop your own Keepstar in Perimeter, and watch how fast the TTT monopoly destroy it. A Fortizar defended by the TTT Monopoly would be just as impossible to take down as the keepstar.
The issue is a social issue, not a mechanics issue, and the only way to force the desired change is to Ban Market module, not XL structures.
When I see things like this, my disdain against CCP skyrockets to unsurpassable levels. Where is the CCP of old that said “pink colors” would ruin the look and feel of the game?
Player choice! Creative freedom! All the colors of the rainbow are available, each with a unique name. Players can decide which they want to mix and match; CCP for once is taking a back seat. I’m happy to see choices that aren’t all different shades of grimdark.
I had some fun with the designer; took a few screenshots and that may be enough: The costs to actually deploy and maintain a color scheme are ridiculous. This should be pay once, display forever. The irony: ‘Evermarks’ buy temporary marks.
