Lol, clicking on the chat’s 3 dots did nothing for a while

Nope, can’t agree with that. My subscription counts weekends as days, the game runs 24x7, some of the current “bugs” are so bad that they require immediate attention. Chat (and in particular the local player listing) is critical to the game and cannot simply wait for someone to turn up during regular office hours to start looking at it (I admit some of the “just annoying” things can wait though).

CCP can have the weekends off when they stop counting weekends in my 30 day monthly subscriptions.

Maybe the forums run on the same chat servers as the game ones and CCP can’t see us typing…

It takes a release engineer 5 minutes to unroll the update. Which is 10 seconds to do it, and the rest for formalities such as announcing an unscheduled downtime so the abyss runners don’t kaboom and mission deadspaces don’t despawn.

It doesn’t. Every day at 11:00 UTC, it shuts down for “maintainance”. CCP announced they would make eve stay online permanently in 2020 and did a test run where tranquility stayed up for two consequent days, then they fixed some issues with asteroid belts not properly respawning w/o downtime and did another test on tranquility.
3 years have passed since then, and the game still goes down every day. The mindset to do the testing on the production server hasn’t changed, either.

For all intents and purposes it does. We don’t receive credit against our subscriptions for daily downtime.

Unless you play at the corresponding timezone and have to consider that the downtime will despawn your mission sites which makes the mission fail, kill you if you’re in an abyss, or give you some random behaviour if you’re engaged with other players while the game cluster is half shutdown and half available, so basically you’re forced to limit or stop your activities significantly before DT, get safe and wait until the server has restarted.

You don’t have to, the daily DT is part of the deal you agreed to when subscribing.

@CCP_Aurora I played on Angel side since Havoc got released last week, and the issue I am raising is a real problem for the expansion.

The issue is there are groups of players with 10-20-30-60 toons warping around in different plexes coming in at 40 seconds left on timer, grabbing 90% of shared LP. The 3-4-5 dudes who sat there for 12-15 min and grinded down the plex gets 450 lp, while the 60 toon farm gets the rest. Also those toons have 100% corp tax on LP, so LP goes to corp to purchase the new titan. As far as I understand it, LP transfer was to be disabled temporarily to adjust lp payouts.

My proposal is to let LP payouts be 50% based on time spent in plex, and 50% based on contribution ( engaging with every flight of npc’s that shows up on grid, not killing every single npc, flight engagement).
This way the groups of 20-60 toons will have to sit the full timer and engage with the NPC’s to get the LP and smaller groups can move to another plex.

As it is now, smaller groups does the heavy lifting for the big groups. It should really be the opposite way.

For me, I lost my motivation yesterday morning, when I logged in, wanted to do some plexes for more LP, and true and behold, here comes the farm toons. 60-70 toons warped in 40 seconds on the timer, where myself and 3 others sat in the plex for the full 15 minutes. I decided then to do something else until this gets fixed from CCP. Later yesterday Angels won the incursion so everything is on pause now anyway, suits me well to be honest.

If CCP wants to capitalize and keep players that came back for the expansion past the 7 days free gametime, this needs to be fixed. We can’t have 60-70 toons belonging to same corp grabbing all the LP.

Given the number of front line plexes are so few, the big groups can easily go between solar systems and be present at the last few seconds of the timer as long as it is only last second timer based.

I hope CCP reads this and take this into consideration.

lol, it’s almost like CCP runs a special department of developlers that only care for “how can we create things in a way that they are most abusable and frustrate the average player until he quits” tasks. I mean, really? How can the dev-crew overlook such a stupid issue? Ever heard of some kind of “quality control”? Isn’t this kind of stuff exactly what they should present to the CSM some weeks before release and ask them a simple question: “If we release that, how would people exploit it to the max and how can we possibly prevent that?”.

It was fine the first 2 days after the Havoc update. The big groups didn’t have time to organize themselves and they didn’t have the infrastructure as ships and fits in the beginning so they ran around like everyone else and were in the plexes for the whole timer mostly. Then people figured out they only need 4-5 scouts to check timers on each plex site and the big group of toons just move around to the closest timer in fast running ships.

What we as smaller groups/solo saw was the big groups having a scout that came in at 10min checking timer, going off, and at 40 seconds on the timer the big group came in to grab most of the LP.

So the few toons that actually were in the plex for the whole timer gets a small portion of the shared LP. People will quit the game over this, me included. Alot of people complained about this in militia chat, but people gets called out being cry babies as this is within the mechanics and its not cheating so to say. It devestates the motivation for the expansion completely.

There’s an acceleration gate into the complex, isn’t it?

5 or 10 alts might be your random nullsec multiboxer trolling you, 20 might be two or three multiboxers grouping up to troll, but 60 alts that each select the acceleration gate and hit the warp button before you can do something about those that charged ahead into the complex, or are trailing behind, should be “very difficult”.

If you can see them taking the acceleration gate all concurently, repeatable over multiple complexes, e.g. with a bomber cloaked at the gate repeatably, or you manage to tackle one of them on the acceleration gate and they all manage to abort warp, yellow box and aggress you in the same instance, again, repeatable, just report them to CCP. We reported a 120 account multiboxer running sansha incursions this summer and a day later CCP had banned them all for botting.

Its easy to run 5-6 toons on a 4k monitor, I know as I used to run 3 supers ratting in null 8 years ago and having a scout on each side of system.

I dont think this is botting, its merely a group of dedicated players in big null sec bloc with countdown tools the scouts use to report system name and site ID and its timer, then the online tool shows which site the big group should quickly go to, to snatch the LP at <1 min left on timer.

I am well aware of the 1 week left of free omega time, this might be better after that week. But for the big null sec bloc’s this is the best way to grind the LP for the new titan BPC and make isk at the same time as the corp with 100% lp tax will payout isk back to the toons that farmed the lp.

Again, Im not complaining about rest of the mechanics, I’m kindly asking CCP to reconsider how they count participation in the plex with gates.

There should be 3 conditions met for LP payout:

  • 50% lp based on time spent inside the plex
  • 50% lp based on engaging with each flight of hostile NPCs.
  • toon have to be present at countdown to 0 sec.

The big groups can use the OPEN sites instead. They are meant for larger numbers and possibility to use cyno and get capitals into the site for pvp.

If the big groups of toons want to use the gated sites they have to wait out the timer and engage with the flights of NPCs.

Ok, after playtesting the new extension as third party here the issues I experienced that need to be addressed:

  • All insurgency NPC appear and keep white, even those that are hostile, hostiles must be red
  • from time to time all roaming spawns stopped for half a day for unknown reasons
  • red/yellow boxes from roaming NPC were not reset, so I had the funny situation that they boxed me while being cloaked
  • stage 5 effects are not consistent, I could bubble in Turnur, but not in Aset (both stage 5)
  • gateguns disabling is also inconsistent, they still worked in Turnur, but a day before in another stage 5 system they didn’t shoot at me at first, but later when I just decloaked on grid
  • gateguns malfunction is not mentioned in the tooltip of stage 5 traits
  • I got a KR from shooting a player with yellow safety in stage 5 highsec, opened a ticket for this

Enhancements needed:

  • Insurgency have to go to the regular map, it’s cumbersome to navigate with the FW “map” because it doesn’t show anything helpful for travel
  • The bubbles on the FW map are too big compared to the star outline, you can’t see anything if stage 4-5
  • Lowsec warning on stage 5 highsec systems
  • The fun drops from the Consortium Bulwark (after redeeming ) is … fun, but more value would be appreciated than ~10M in deathless tags, the pirate roamers give you mutaplasmids

bug report players with “Project manager” keep getting “failure to connect to server” errors, but director roles do not.
question only role that gives access to the projects hangar is the director role, is this intended? seems like project manager should be given access to the project hangar

I disagree. Local player listing is not that important. No issues with delayed chat. The problem is that local (or chat in general) often doesn’t work at all. And chat itself is very important.

How sweet. Another thing broken… that was working before. Makes me wonder if CCP has any testsuite.

Nope. It doesn’t take 5 minutes to undo the update. I been working in environment were applying update was 2 hour long process. Rollbacks are not viable if update also updated DB.

This will end soon once the free omega ends. I doubt those multibox (bot?) farms can sustain subscription like this.

Seeing bugs popping up in features that worked before we may as well say that there is no proper testing. In that case how can we talk about quality control at all?

Worth noting: free omega week. Great for players like me. Abused by botters.

how will they payout? There is no LP wallet history that I am aware of.

And the best joke: all of these should be possible to unit test for.

FW Map is fine, the map used by insurgency sadly is not FW map… it is some joke map that combines the worst of normal map and fw map at the same time.
