If only that would work. I still get a notification on login.
I just tested it myself and seem to be able to get the pop-up again if I turn on the âunused skill pointsâ notification settings.
You can easily turn them off here, which should now correctly make the pop-up disappear:
Previously this setting wasnât respected, even though I had turned them off for all my characters.
Now it is!
Ah! Thatâs where thatâs hiding! The patch notes made it seem like it would be automatically turned offâŚ
Yea, I thought the same thing, but have had those settings turned off for a long time when I gave feedback that I still saw the pop-up, so the pop-up disapeared automatically for me after the patch.
It was only because of your reply that I went back to those settings to see if they now turn that pop-up on and off, and they do. Nice!
I have literally NEVER seen that notification (and I have unallocated SP). I get analogous notifications for contract needing attention, skill training complete, and SKIN sequencing finished and thatâs pretty much it. Itâs definitely in the settings somewhere, where you can turn that SP notification off.
Weirdly for me, that setting has always worked (i.e. worked as intended when turned off). I have had it turned off for ever since those settings came on, and I have never seen SP notifications as a result.
Iâd like to complain about 1.5GB update today. What is going on with these huge update patches? Not all of us are on unlimited data plans. I get it that sometimes itâs necessary, but this happens more often than not now. Just a couple of weeks ago there was an 8GB patch or something like that. I literally have to go to a friendâs place who has an unlimited plan to download these huge updates.
And no, I am not getting an unlimited plan myself. Ever. I donât need it. I use 40GB a month, 1+ GB a day and thatâs perfectly okay for my internet habits.
Just bringing it to your attention, which Iâm pretty sure you donât care about, but I canât keep quiet on this.
and no description of what it was either.
Let me guess: Update to Omega Ads
Maybe it was the .jpg for the new ads.![]()

Your âinternet habitsâ include EVE Online and therefore if the data volume exceeds your âplanâ, the âplanâ is not perfectly okay for your âinternet habitsâ.
I am also wondering in which countries there still would be a volume based plan for stationary internet available. In my country this doesnât exist anymore, all is flatrate. If i assume that is the same for your country, i derive that your âplanâ is for mobile internet access at a cellular provider - all of which rather points to a âyou problemâ. Sorry.

My data plan is what is necessary for me, and thatâs up to me to decide how much I use. Not you or any other third party.
Yeah, itâs a mobile plan, so what? Like that makes any difference. Data is data, and I limit my usage not so much because of money, but partly because I refuse to be part of the way of thinking that gobbling up hundreds of GB of data daily is a good practice. High data usage is wasteful, unnecessary, and bad for the environment. Additionally, internet is full of crap, and itâs just a bad habit to sit in front of a screen all the time. I prefer the real life, so thereâs another reason.
I donât care if I play EVE. Itâs not up there among my top priorities. Itâs just a form of entertainment Iâve chosen to partake in, and itâs easily replaced with some actually useful activity like reading a book. So as long as it doesnât take up more than letâs say 500MB of my data per update (not expansion), give or take, Iâll continue playing this game. But when every other update is 3GB (the 1.5 GB ended up being 3+ GB update, because it came in 3 installs) then it very quickly becomes a CCP problem. I will just stop playing. Which will start showing up in their monthly income. Iâm one of those players who is a high-PLEX consumer in the game, so theyâre gonna lose a lot more than just a monthly subscription fee.
Not that I think CCP gives a ratâs ass. I donât. And I stated that in my post. Read it more carefully maybe? I wasnât asking anybody to change anything for my sake. Iâm simply stating the facts. Keep pushing out these high GB updates, and some players will no longer play.
Thanks for caring so much about my internet habits.
I see you donât want to discuss or change it. It is your thing really.
I can only assess that EVE receives low volume patches when compared with other games where you get patches in the 10-20GB range. I guess EVE is about the only game you play and you have not much experience with whats up at the current gaming requirements.
So you are lucky that they did not modernize the game for highres textures yet. EVE Online is a very small game at 42GB when compared with contemporary games ranging in the 150GB size.
Tech standards rise over time, so you need to invest and update your equipment and environment from time to time unless you play a fixed single player game frozen in the past.

I guess EVE is about the only game you play and you have not much experience with whats up at the current gaming requirements.
Correct. EVE is the only game I have ever played in my life. Iâm not a gamer at all. EVE is some sort of an anomaly in my life since 2009.
I was not aware of the numbers you quoted for other games. I agree that when you set it in that context then my complaining about a 3GB update might seem ridiculous. But also when looking at those other games data usage, Iâm not sure that type of increase is strictly unavoidable like some people seem to think. I do understand that they do need to update the game. But Iâm pretty sure thereâs some waste in all of that 3GB as well. As is for all those other games too, I bet.
In any case, I mostly have a way around it. Like most of the population in the Western world, my friends have unlimited plans, so I just update EVE at theirs when itâs too much for my plan. Itâs not that big of a problem, more of an annoyance. The reason I complain is to draw attention to the fact that they shouldnât take it for granted that everybody will just be okay with it if this starts becoming the norm. EVE doesnât have that huge data updates outside expansions, and I donât want to see a tendency to unreasonable increase in that regard.
Where can i find those settings?
Sleepers in WH space have started actively targeting dronesâhavenât seen any news about it though. I mostly use medium drones. Before, only frigates would aggro them, but now even battleships are blasting them⌠You spot a drone, get alpha-striked by a BS, and itâs gone.
Is this intended?
your not kidding , some of us are on 2mb/s rural connections , get my hour to play ? pure dl again for nothing that ever effects my gameplay anyway , got to the point to why pay 16 /m to watch a dl and cant even watch yt whilst its doing it , or i leave my pc on all day so hopefully its done when im bk , Great !
