Version 23.02 - Catalyst - General Feedback

Wait, this Space Magic bothers you? With all of the completely arbitrary cargo space on haulers that doesn’t correspond at all to their size?

How about the fact that ships only have 1 crew, stuffed in a pod, but they have windows?

Why doesn’t gas get crits? I am most displeased.

In that case, mining frigs should have an even lower packaged volume and barges a much bigger assembled volume, and the mining destroyers should have a much smaller volume.

Nice work, CCP. Chat issues are flaring up again. How much more often does this need to happen before we go back to the old system?

If the Odysseus had been there I would have investigated that option but there was not other ship/collidable/station in the dungeon

The range is available. But CCP doing what CCP does, they force in your throat whatever new shiny red ball they introduce, at the cost of convenience.

Here the new thing is the column for the value of the rocks. To get the range, you have to enlarge the result window. Because “convenience” is not as important as “new thing”, they put range last.

Just like, to make sure we use the new color thingy (not really convenient, but “the new thing”) when activating the scanner, the result window does not show up by default. And some new player in the future may never know the result window exist because right cicking everything is not intuitively a necessity for all things in life.

When taking our proper ore names away from us for no reason, you forgot about stuff.

  • all moon goo still has their adjective instead of x-Grade.
  • I-Grade does not show as I-Grade in inventory. At least be consistent when killing our immersion.
  • stuff i have that i don’t know where it came from (Mutanite) still has its unpronouncable adjectives that linguistically don’t fit their names. Just pointing it out. I only get that stuff from wrecks occasionally.

Where can i see the mining yield in the fitting simulator?

Hold over the mining laser/drone.

“In Space No One Can Hear You Scream”

Please add a checkbox or a slider in the audio section to mute/adjust the sound of rocks crunching when mining. It reminds me of a sound in an old Age of Empires game. Please… it’s ugly. Thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

Defending a complex will reward the same amount of LP as capturing one offensively.

This seems like a great change. The remaining problem seems to be that you have to undo the progress the other faction made if you push them out.

For example if the other faction has been capping a Medium Complex for 10 mins you have to to push them out and then cap for 10+15 mins so its still not worth defending in most situations.

Compare this to pushing someone out when there is 3 minutes left, and then you inherit that progress and only have to stay for 3 mins yourself. Thats pretty cool

Players were giving them some proper grief in the live stream last night.

They got a LOT of abuse about it.

the irony

New mining survey apparently does not scan gas clouds (survey scanner did). Fix needed asap.

I still do not like the new naming system for the ores - bring back Viscious Pyroxeres !

And I am doing the second mission in the new arc-let, and it is asking me to mine low-density ores.
The veldspar isotope roids are all the same density. Some are 3000m^3 / 3000 units, others are 2100m^3 / 2100 units in my scan display. Am I supposed to mine the low-volume ores ? Or am I missing something ?

Very frustrating.

Sry if i sound whiny but i still dont understand 1 iota of “air career program”.

also, havent tried the new mining but make rocks update every 5 seconds or real time by itself, the amount they currently contain plus no more wasted cycles.

It’s okay to feel confused about the AIR Career Program—CCP didn’t exactly make it intuitive. Think of it as a guided starter path for new or returning players. Instead of dumping you into the game with no direction, the AIR Program tries to give you short tasks, rewards, and a sense of progression so you can learn different parts of EVE at your own pace.

It’s split into four “careers”: Soldier of Fortune, Explorer, Industrialist, and Enforcer. Each career is basically a checklist of activities with rewards attached. Doing the tasks doesn’t force you into any permanent job or playstyle—it just helps you try things out and earn skills, ISK, and ships along the way. You can complete all of them, or ignore them entirely

There is one missing ingridient- ‘Size’ column in overview. Most people have it disabled, because ‘Size’ is one of the useless overview columns in game, since it displays long axis length of the object. And apparently you need it for this mission- to compare quantity/volume (1pc of mission ‘isotope’ is 1m3) vs size

With the new mining scanner, it was useful to see the quantity remaining even on non-mining ships as you could with the old scanner. The new UI overlay should be enabled on all ships when the mining chipset is fitted.
