Version 23.02 - Catalyst - General Feedback

Imo the new mining surveyer does practically nothing. They could have saved alot of trouble by just adding ISK / m3 to the Survey Scanner. But it is what it is.

To the genius at CCP that decided to place a HUGE collidable rock in the Empire border belts. It is pure garbage to have a huge colliable rock on the warp in.

Why?

God forbid miners suffer even the most microscopic inconvenience in their hunt for asteroids they can shoot while AFK.

Please bring back the old Ore names!

there are also broken rats that don’t attack in anomalies and asteroid belts

Pacifist rats?!

those guys in Iceland think we are dumb… this slight of hand mining update that really does nothing except cause a bunch of grief with all the new names of ores.. if you do the math it doesn’t give you a hell of a lot extra when you mine.. why dont they revert the bp changes that pushed away half the player base and reduce subscription pricing. make things affordable again and turn it into the wild wild west.. i remember back in the day we as a corp would mine for a week and then go and get our ■■■■ blown up to do it again the following week.. cant do that anymore

Yep no indication of density given on scanner, just size of rock.

Appears they are confused between density and volume

Hey its a way to gain and share ORE standings.

So, my exploration ship cannot use the chip set to scan asteroids.

This obviously is not a game changer, and EVE shall not die because of the change. But it does close off multiple player game play where a scout doing a moon survey and also throwing in a bit of data gathering of the asteroid belts.

I have not tried a variety of ships; I happen to have been in my Helios.

You can technically use a corvette for belt scanning, since that has the scanner button. Won’t fit a survey launcher for the moon part.

Personally for no longer possible gameplay i used to use an overpropped Executioner as a control ship scanning belts and designating rocks via broadcast or visually with a target painter while my barge alts were mining. The barge alts that i’m now retiring due to lack of proper ore names.

Hey guys \0/

Don’t forget to add this to the overview.

Dear CCP Balance Developers,

I am writing to express serious concerns regarding the recent adjustments made to the Cenotaph (Deathless Circle Battlecruiser), specifically the drastic reduction in damage duration and maximum damage of the Breacher Pod M ammunition (from 75s/1000 to 60s/750 with max skills).

This nerf has turned the ship into an extreme ISK-sink whose utility no longer justifies the colossal investment.

  1. Astronomical Total Investment:

    • ISK Cost: The Cenotaph is a Faction ship whose hull and fully-fitted modules are among the most expensive in the entire game.

    • Skill Point (SP) Cost: To fly the Cenotaph effectively and maximize the utility of its Breacher Pods, extensive and highly specialized Skill Point investments are required (e.g., Breacher Pod Clone Longevity has a 7x training multiplier). These SPs represent significant time and cost for the average player.

  2. Loss of Investment and Core Function: The Cenotaph’s primary niche was to provide a significant threat through the cumulative application of high Damage over Time (DoT), despite its high price making it an immediate primary focus target in any engagement.

    • By reducing the DoT potential, the ship has lost the critical ability to prove its worth. It is now too easily ignored or removed from the field by basic focus fire before it can stack meaningful damage.

    • For players who have invested millions of Skill Points and months of training time into this specialized ship, this change renders those SPs effectively wasted and the investment invalid. This feels less like a balance adjustment and more like a definitive removal of the ship’s combat role.

  3. Conclusion: Considering its acquisition price, fitting cost, and the prerequisite Skill Point investment, this severe change to its main weapon system makes the Cenotaph one of the most inefficient ships in New Eden. This was not a careful nerf for the sake of balance, but an action that has removed the ship’s primary function.

I urge you to re-evaluate the entire cost-benefit ratio—ISK price, risk profile, SP investment, and effective combat performance—of the Cenotaph. A balancing solution that rejustifies the high investment and intended role of the ship is crucial for the player experience.

Thank you for your time and for considering this feedback.

Sincerely,

A Dedicated Capsuleer

They can completely remove the Cenotaph and see no serious repercussions. DoT in Eve never really made any sense.

Some feedback about mining UI

Rock information is a nice addition, and I understand that we need some time to estimate value to settle. But why do we have quantity in units here? mÂł is what matters and we also got value per mÂł here. Can we manually adjust what are displayed here like with ship brackets? If no - can you please make so?

Mining Survey Results window need some more love too:

  1. Can we have a checkbox to turn off headers? (so that we can sort by volume/distance/etc.. for all rocks, not only in one group)
  2. An option to turn off animation?
  3. A range indicator? Or make it the whole grid since you increased the range so much already. (for ex. new mining escalation “Shrouded Asteroid Field” is too big and can’t be scanned fully)

To add to this, I would like it if the Survey Scanner Results cleared once the rock was gone. Took me a minute to understand why I couldn’t Ctrl+click lock one or two.

Ok getting there. keep going. Now from my point of view.

Get rid of the sound when you enter a asteriod field. Its annoying and would my pod play music when it gets there. Thats VERY X BOX AND CHILDISH.

Next sort out that jump to the left and pathetic slide when docking when dynamic camera is active. Then sack the child that did this piss poor programming. The smooth entry to the station is lost when dynamic camera is disabled. THAT was a really nice visual touch. Have to chose between the two now, never did before.

Give us the propper ore names back. We have mostly got to be in our 40s to 60s now or is this game now aimed at teens with quick cash to spend and no attention span to learn a few names. Again VERY Xbox

Finally. Please dont dumb this once brilliant game down anymore. We eve vets ain’t dead yet.

The mining surveyor only shows values for selected gas clouds in space, one at a time, the list where we could copy paste the remaining gas to post it for the fleet was good, can we have it back pls?

the m3 was the core information in the scan result for me, its missing entirely

Yes true, but the worst thing is the sound of rocks when you do gas huffing. Come on…
