CSM would be so much better if we had to vote in-game. And we had to travel to the voting place which should be in high sec. This evens the playing field between multiboxers and null blocs and “average players”.
For example the null blocks and multiboxer have to put in effort for each vote compared to just mass mailing your alliance and linking the page to vote. Do you know what I mean, let’s discuss or not (for next CSM). Peace.
Outcome of the election may not end up significantly different, due to the CSM candidates being good, but Voting in Stations opens up content designed around the election. For example the station could be attacked by NPCs And various staging areas for these attacks would spawn with players able to defeat them for rewards?. There is a lot of inspiration from real world as to what can happen? As a side note you could even have NPCs running for election and bad players could try to kill them. Why in high sec? I am for jove space.
I can see the jovians making “puppets” out of the 4 main empires. The empires wouldn’t stop fighting each other and became weaker and weaker and eventually jovians conquered them. And now the CSM elections taking place in jovi space. At the same time voting will become a privilege that you had to earn by obtaining high standings with jove or something. But I digress.
Why not put a single voting booth in Zarzakh for everyone?
Easily reached from all corners of the game, this should make voting for everyone possible!
Putting it in high sec would unfairly favour those with positive security status and those without active high sec wars (like everyone in faction warfare), we cannot have that.

It seems having to travel to vote opens opportunities for enemies to block voting—e.g., ambushing fleets or indivuduals en route.

Jump clones exist, troll. This idiotic suggestion, one of many by the way, wouldn’t do anything. The only people in the game this would impact are those living in wormholes, because no one with a single functioning brain cell doesn’t already have a jump clone in highsec. JC to HS, vote, take the Pod Express home and completely negate this terrible idea.
