Want players to pay more, then give players development control

Last I checked, employees are people still and they want their wages to rise to meet/beat inflation of the monetary base.

The biggest cost in any company is the people.

That’s another thing too. The pandemic probably effected their operations as well and some places are still being wishy washy with it.

The biggest cost for CCP has always been hubris.

Eve exists to fund the other projects. Eve is 20 years old being pumped for as long as possible. Other games would have turned off their servers by now.

That is neither here nor there.

During the pandemic people were confined. EVE is ideally suited to socialising while staying at home. Failing to capitalise on this shows deep issues that should be adressed.

And yet when we “socialise” in space we get whinefests about being shot at.

But all the tangients CCP has gone off on failed or fizzled or were abandoned. As many things in EVE have been. The constant “new is better” has been a drain on company resources that failed to deliver new and returning players in sufficient numbers.

That everybody who remains is marred by survivors bias is no reason to stay a course that has been detrimental to the longterm viability.

That is because CCP has focussed on violence as the best way to make contact with another player. This is a design choice that could do with a closer examination. It is there that the survivors bias shows itself most prominantly. We have all played through the violence and came out the other side bittervets calling all who balk at said violence all manner of names and spewing “can I has your stuff” to anybody having some trouble with the loss visited on them in EVE.

One of the things I would vote for is more ways to have mutually beneficial engagements where assisting the other is also an option to make first contact between players. But those are things I would like to see the community vote on, since I am just one player.

Um, they need the whole team and where I was at there was mandates demanding that people stay 6 ft apart which lead to less staff since it was literally impossible to do it and in some places in my country unless your job was considered essential, they told you to stay home. I imagine CCP had to follow some mandates that got in their way as well

Capatilise on that, demand your own office if you don’t have one.

What are you saying here? That social distancing gets in the way of player retention and new player aquisition? Sorry, not following you there and calling hogwash on that.

Edit: Spelling.

Name checks out.

Ccp paragon has confirmed they are not getting a raise. But instead said we need to oay more to get more content after they soebd 2 years working on it and we lost all the russian income because the company chose to cave to oeer oressue “russua is bad and their peoole should be ounished bs” the rest of the wirld has been doing.

Agree but better yet we need a way to limit it to 1 a person for votes and lets do something from each catagory of space so that its soread around and not suoer focused in 1 place.

You’d never get players to agree on what needs doing, simply because one person’s fix is another person’s nerf.

Funny because I seem to recall stimulus checks being handed out specifically because people couldn’t work and that orders were given to rental owners to NOT evict people for not paying on time strictly because so many people lost their jobs because it was “non-essential” while even big chains like burger king, wendys, golden corral, etc all got wooden boards covering their establishments and haven’t opened back up since (the ones near where I live).

I know quite a few places just let some staff go outright instead of shutting down completely, so some jobs that were allowed to persist, was barebones. The effects of the covid lockdowns also contributed to the inflation we have been having. Don’t forget that food companies had to throw out a lot of food due to restaurants being closed and rationing kicking in (many places had limits on the number of items you could buy). Schools serve food too and they were shut down for a while which is even more food gone to waste. So considering all that food that went to waste wasn’t recompensed, naturally the expense would be passed along to the consumer.

The project discovery we have in game is related to covid man. It had its impact on eve.

Specificly mentioned categories, that way highest voted can be tackled per category simultaniously or on a rotating consecutive basis, depending on the work and scope involved and developers available.

The one vote per paid month of subscription allows for balanced representation from an income for CCP viewpoint. A miner with 8 paid accounts generates more income then a ganker who plexes his account. In this proposal the miner would get eight votes a month, the ganker none since he isn’t paying CCP anything. And yes, this example was chosen specificly to be polarizing

Hence a voting system where, if a thing is done all votes that asked to do the thing are spent. If players start a voting war that would result in endless flip flopping, we have a CSM to either make sure this doesn’t happen beforehand or can intervene during.

Please stop bringing up the pandemic as an excuse for CCP to not do better. It’s not helpful and actually more of an argument against the pricing tiers, currently favoring people able to pay a lot at once and forcing people trying to play some EVE while living paycheck to paycheck to pay A LOT more for the same game then their more affluent fellow players.

YEESSSS! Eve is a great example of be careful what you ask for.

As far as “no content” is concerned, just look in the mirror. Eve is supposed to be a place where the game provides tools for people to content each other to death. Literally.

This last event is an example. I ignored it, but I became cAHntent when I learned about the smart-bomb you out of warp trick. Kaboom shuttle, Kaboom pod. Dad gummit! But they used the tools at hand. And my pod dropped 40 mil of the 100 mil standard implants. That by a 13 day old toon. Obviously an experienced player spinning up an alpha for just this event and this purpose. I would never DREAM of asking CCP to fix that. This is Eve.

Please bring back the old high sec war decs. Give newbie omegas 2 months of if-you-gank-me-you’re-instant-minus-ten if you must, but let highsec pvp be a bit more complex, please.

And a bit more defendable as well…

People living pay check to pay check have also seen their wages increase in response to the pandemic and the way the economy is set up means that inflation would occur to cover for those costs because the owners most certainly ain’t going to sacrifice themselves for the greater good. They’re going to expect more income themselves because they’re greedy and since paying people is a business cost and they want more, the prices of things will increase by consequence so the idiots can afford to give them their illusion of purchasing power. Usually though the ratios ain’t 1:1 and is more like 1:4 so over time more and more people end up unable to afford a living wage as a consequence and people that may have been making 2 to 3 times over the minimum wage suddenly have less purchasing power when the minimum wage rises. If it doubles then their purchasing power is halved literally. If one hour of work could afford them 4 bags of chicken and the minimum wage doubles, with time, they will only be able to afford 2 bags of chicken and their inflation raises will not double to compensate now or over time. Pandemic made it where people couldn’t even afford to pay their bills. Though you are right. I shouldn’t blame the pandemic considering the virus never told anyone to act like a clown. That was our governments even though none of their efforts helped it. People just lie to virtue signal about how good they are because they have no real value anywhere else in life.

Despite some places raising their wages, a lot more people are without a job than the news lets on. At least in my locality because I have seen the homeless increase. I see fresh faces on the streets too but our news does a good job with their lies and discriminatory news reporting.
