Wardec Nerf incoming

Isnt that one of the first lessons they teach people? Not to go out and fly a battleship right away?

Oh you have been teaching them the hard way I guess.

Wardecks dont need nerfing, they just need some control measures so they dont have a detrimental effect on players staying and playing.
But that does not equate to a simple change, it needs to be a bit better thought out than that.

As it stand simply anchoring a structure allows for wardeck resolves or changes very little; except that you cant wardeck a corp that doesn’t have one; if this is left as that alone its a daft ‘fix’

It means i could go around decking people as much as i like but you cant deck me for a start…
i guess theres no balance there… is there no icelandic word for balance?

okay so quick solution is that both parties need a structure… fine

I will find a lowclass wh and just anchor a cheap disposable one in there…

I like the way you think

Is there an easy way to tell if a player in a PVP ship is “Bambi” or not?

oh believe me there are waaaay more “creative” players out there than i

Has nothing to do with luck! In my first few weeks in the game I talked to a number of other players. Got some advice here and there, got blown up repeatedly as well. Then I looked fo a corp to join. That was Brave Newbies. No luck involved.

Generally Bambi would be less than 6 months old.

People will cry over anything. CCP is pretty free to nerf whatever they deem necessary. Not that they need a reason for it, but it looks good when they can say that this is what some people want when of course it’s what CCP wants.

I’m going to assume that they will shaft as much of the free PvP content in favour of getting more PvE players in for the :moneybag::moneybag::moneybag:. PvE games have always found more customers than PvP games, and from the looks of it has CCP begun to breath in the smell of money.

It will be interesting to see where CCP’s step forward will take us.

The only mistake I made was trying to make you laugh whilst you were unbunching your panties.

  • 1:105 k/d ratio ? ZKB says more around 1:30-40
  • All the corps without structures and low kills. I wonder if they counted all the corps that have been kicked out by big nulsec alliances during their purges.
  • It’s better for Eve? At Fanfest 2015 they claimed the opposite of what the numbers showed today.
  • CSM are fluffy nulbears who cry too much about the big bad highsec mercenaries. Boohoo… :sob:

Do war decs need some loving and improvement, sure.

That shows your lack of understanding of the 2015 figures. They showed that people who played longer had more likelyhood of exposure to pvp yes. But as pointed out by many at the time they didnt separate cause & effect there. Which means it could have been people who put more hours in have more likelyhood of staying regardless of pvp exposure, but more hours means more chance of pvp exposure.
The numbers here however are a much closer look at a single aspect and therefore far less likely to confuse factors at play.

They just looked at corp activity and sorry but that is equally flawed if a majority abuses the current corp system by just recycling corp or jumping ship that is exactly what you would expect.

What I find quite rude by CCP is the claim they’d be doing this for the benefit of corporations and to get players into corporations. They are outright ignoring the popularity Marmite and PIRAT have gained. Such ignorance by CCP is upsetting.

It’s like they’re planning to turn EVE from the cold, harsh universe it once was into a tourist attraction so every peace-loving player can play EVE now. War is getting regulated and directed, like a train on tracks. Shoot this structure here first, at this time, then wait, do wtf ever next, and continue, … congratulation, you’ve won a war in EVE!

hmm, I thought the sky had already completely fallen a shatload of times.

Except this is not really a nerf to war dec, That fact a target corp needs to own a structure changes nothing for war dec corps. There is no need to attack or destroy said structure, so it’s basically business as usual camping trade hubs and the main pipes.

In fact this may discourage some indy corps from owning structures because of the new war dec factor. This could also slow or halt the spam of citadels in high sec, which would be a good thing imo.

Exactly, and I don’t get why the developers of a sandbox game are so blind they don’t see this shift from a free form tool that allows for emergent gameplay to a shitty minigame that will be abused and gamed from day one.

I really hope the “final design” will not be along the lines I fear because the way it seems to go now is that some carebrars and nullbears are mad and all they can come up with is throwing more obstacles at the “problem” which they perceive are the few corps left that actually use wardecs.

It’s the Minecraft generation growing up and joining EVE. They require stuff to be in blocks they can grasp. One structure here, another one there, … oh, look mommy, I’ve made a castle!

I expect nothing but the worst after seeing EVE Vegas. They literally want players to leave their ships and jump into a FLEX structure. Like some kitten in a box.

They’ll ask for the nerf in regards of ganking. Then neutral logi. Then forced safety-set-to-green in highsec.

I had been working on a concept for new war dec mechanics for a while, but I reckon I won’t post them anymore.

It is unlikely that CCP will step back from their “interim” “solution” anytime soon. Their normal mode of operations is acting when there is enough pressure and then wait if people continue to complain or not. If not, the thing won’t be touched for the next 5 years. They likely won’t press for the best possible wardec mechanics, but just for the least effort possible in exchange for a little better player retention in the short run.

The EVE Vegas show was only disturbing to watch. They literally want us to believe wardecs have been on their agenda for years and at the top of their list. Only… they never did anything about it. But now it’s the reason why… Unbelievable nonsense talk there by CCP. Makes me feel ashamed to be an EVE player being fed this BS.
