Well, I do admit I don’t really care for null politics and I’m just returning to the game from a long break.

In the old day, brave and horde where newbie corps. Might have changed, what do I know.

Doesn’t really change the point, that people do enjoy the destruction aspect of the game and it is what makes many people stay in eve, since the aspect of asset destruction is not found in many other games.

in the old days there was brave… then most of that became horde… i dont know exact details but it had all basically been a ruse from the start or something; something to do with pl creating and maintaining brave for content - not sure of exact details but basically
brave is horde.
at least from the same stock :stuck_out_tongue:

Think I should never have mentioned any corp, since it seems people get too focused on that. The corps themselves are not really central to the point I wanted to make.

While I do agree that wardecs has issues. I’ve stated before and totally support, that something needs to be done to fix player retention rates. I also believe that the only thing that makes eve interesting to play compared with other games is asset destruction. Remove that aspect and the whole game really falls apart. Without it, we have some nice looking spaceships and some mediocre pve. Sometimes people forget, that if you take away asset destruction, then eve (in its current state) is not really that fun of a game.

It would require a whole rework of the entire game if ccp would want anything that can compete with other mainstream mmo’s. If we pretend, that it was even possible to just rewrite a game like this, then eve becomes something completely different and people who play eve today will very likely not keep playing if it just becomes another themepark mmo. So instead, the aspects that are unique to eve should be what ccp promotes and builds upon. It will always be a niche market, but at least eve will have something other mmo’s can’t provide and thus always will have some playerbase.

Looks like Dracvlad’s “skin in the game” concept is going to win.
And that’s because it was a good idea.

Wow. You’d think after 2016 this mindset featuring a complete disconnect between cause and effect would have been re-thought.
But perhaps thinking really has nothing to do with it.

Maybe like the watered down shitty backwards version of that idea yes. As far as I know you don’t need a structure to declare war, only to be a valid target.

Additional items awaiting further work:

  • Tiericide
  • Force Auxiliary balance
  • cloaky campers
  • structures
  • POS
  • player built stargates
  • ECM
and now wardec’s? Just add it to the list of forgotten incomplete things left to rot!

player built starbases are already in, they call them jump bridges but the new ones will be dealt with by access lists
and can be made to let the public through…
is provi still nrds?

Considering he said earlier in a thread this is not what he wanted I’m not sure how this applies.

This would be mainly because war deccers still have no ‘skin’ in the game, just limitations.

Apparently you’re new or just unfamiliar with the topic. POS infrastructure is still in the code and not replaced. They’ve dragged out to transition from the POS system to Structures for years now and it’s still not done. Jump Bridges are part of the old POS system, they are hardly stargates nor are they new.

My point is the list of yet to be finished features keeps growing longer and this is just another item added to an ever growing list. Don’t expect it to be finished anytime in the next few years.

Jumpgates and all the missing structures are coming in november and those are the last structures missing to completely remove POS

Without putting much thought into wardecs this looks as throwing wardec groups under the bus.
Social corps is a perfect way of avoiding what is eve all about and they are more beneficial than npc’s corps and since there isn’t time limit on them it is safe to say target starvation is gonna get real.
War dec as we know today as gameplay is finished and while I recognize its significant bad parts the solution is equally bad.
This will also trigger bottom feeding ganker wave at least in short term.

Simple time immunity say 6 months or so for new players against wardecs would work better for player retention instead creating true carebear heaven.

CCP doing this and whole CSM staying quiet is disturbing to me.

What target starvation? Hundreds of structures in HS have owners and ask to be beaten.

They will cry about suicide ganking and how CCP should remove it from the game along with any pvp.

2019?

More like 2029.

You’re dumb.

The question running through my mind, considering what I can recall, if those 5 corps doing 50 percent of the wardecs were to quit, would they be missed?

No they wouldn’t.
