In terms of absolute numbers, community estimates suggest around 8,000 ganks occur annually, averaging about 22 per day. This is a small fraction compared to the estimated 6,000 ships destroyed daily across all of New Eden.
So, about 0.37% of daily ship losses are due to ganking, based on those estimates.
You would have to venture out and do this in at least 25% of systems in each of the factions to make that kind of impact- and youâd have to keep it up all the time to prevent complacency. That isnât happening. People arenât running back behind stations and structures. There arenât miners too afraid to undock. There are plenty of empty asteroid belts, but thatâs because there are more belts than there are miners. Iâve never seen an empty ice belt in the history of New Eden.
Iâve even found miners in isolated pockets of High Sec. Systems that are only accessible by passing through Low or Null Sec. Miners are doing just fine. Of course, if you just gank in a few systems and never venture out beyond that, sure it may look like youâre having an effect, but if you open up the map and take a look at just how many systems there really are in this galaxy, youâll quickly realize how much you donât matter.
Business-wise, PKing was unquestionably a mistake. When Trammel went in, the population roughly doubled; our churn rate fell massively. We were losing an extraordinary number of players to the random ganking.
Albion speaks for itself, you can chill in a safe zone and go grab a coffee without returning to a corpse and there are plenty of incentives to go do high intensity activities in the âlow-secâ or ânull-secâ equivalents.
If this is accurate. Gankers arenât doing enough. Make Ganking Great Again. Destroyers needs additional 4 high slots. add 3 high slots and 1 low slots on Attack cruisers like Thorax. Allow alphas to Gank Again.
They do not. They already bring way too many ships to ganks. Their needed numbers against freighter will change, the numbers they bring anyway wonât.
Most freighters actually are not because they need the cargo space. However, Safety. et al bring 40 and more chars for completely untanked freighters (3 cargo expanders) while half of that number would suffice. The reversal of the SuSt resist nerf wonât change the numbers they bring.
15-20 Catas suffice to kill a non-0-tank freighter.
Safety brings 30+ (even 50+ and 80+ chars for some ganks)
Nope. Free accounts should never have been allowed to disrupt New Eden. This is a pay to play game, not free to play. If you canât afford 10 Omega accounts, you donât get to have ten PvP accounts. After all, itâs just $250 a month for ten Omega and thatâs not including the discounts.
If your freighter doesnât have at least 500,000 EHP, you need to turn around and go back to the space station. I prefer having a minimum of 600,000. You also need to have Thermodynamics skilled up to at least 4. That way, you can overheat your shields. All you have to do is survive until Concord arrives. A little heat damage is okay. Iâve achieved 700,000 overheated in a freighter.
You cannot influence that if you have a package to transport that has 800k mÂł. There are also no modules for freighters (Bowheads arenât freighters and neither are these Upwell ships) that you can overheat.
How do you get ISK from your PLEX? From another player. Who mostly buys your PLEX for game time. Whether you convert your plex to isk to buy in-game items is irrelevant. Your real life money will still go towards game time most of the time â youâre just paying for othersâ (e.g. mine) access to the server and not your own.
And this access is the only thing about the game convertible to real world money.
If your employer doesnât know how to split something up into smaller packages, then thatâs on him. Make sure the employer agrees to replace your ship. Otherwise, the contract should be declined.
Specialized freighters are best, but contracted sealed packages canât take advantage of that. For example-
Employer wants a huge amount of Heavy Water transported and wraps it in a sealed package. The amount is huge so you need a large cargo hold. The solution would be for your employer to trust you enough to contract it over to you without putting it as a courier contract. Why? Because an Avalanche can carry 7,000,000 units of Heavy Water at skill level 4 without sacrificing EHP. The Infrastructure hold on an Avalanche is ENORMOUS!
This is why I donât do courier missions. Specialized freighters are very handy for moving large amounts, but sealed packages make that impossible.
Both of those fits are absolutely worthless. Who runs T2 multispectrums on a 2-billion+ hull? And a shield booster is completely useless to defend against a gank.
