Wasted training time!

ok so bad example as you don’t know what that skill is apparently.

corp management is 20 members per level.

mega corp is 100 members per level

empire control is 400 members per level

sovereignty is 2000 members per level.

each one at V is a requirement for the next skill.

Does that not seem arbitrary to you?

Oh hey, I’m all for hilarious lossmails.
However, what’s the effect on your hypothetical newbro who jumps into a widow on day 1 and loses it due to not having the skills to fly it well or the ingame knowledge required to actually use it to it’s best potential?
This sort of thing has happened numerous times. One particularly hilarious one involved a day one newbro credit card warrioring themselves an Avatar.
They undocked and were promptly destroyed by a rag tag bunch of lowsec locals.
They ragequit the game.

perfectly logical.

starting out as a fresh CEO, or fresh player, you don’t have any reason to train sovereignty to be able to have over 2k members unless you want to exploit them like some corps do… which by that time you’ve already trained the other skills to have over 1000 people in corp.

Im neither for or against it. But they shouldnt be happening today because people are forced to train support skills and even cruiser and frigate before they can train Widow which allegedly makes them better pilots. Sorry for edit

in game skills has nothing to do with how good or bad a pilot is…

learning HOW to fly and fit and shoot and get shot, those are the more important skills.

Why are players forced train frigate and cruiser before you can train battle ship then?

Give a new teenage driver a Ford Taurus or an Indy 500 car? See which one he wrecks first…

its called ■■■■■■■ progression tum tum.

why go to ■■■■■■■ school for 12 years? start out in ■■■■■■■ college at 5 years old.

Wasted skill training is the opposite of progression

no the ■■■■ its not…its not ■■■■■■■ wasted.

learn to fly a small helicopter before flying a ■■■■■■■ blackhawk (too soon?)

wasted skill training would be if i trained to fly the mining ships, but decided to sell my character as a focused combat pilot? the mining ships are all wasted.

/You just said people dont become a good pilot just because they trained the skill. So people should be able to train in the order they want.

Why rude?

The feedback has been good and i hope the discussion reaches someone at CCP

Why obstreperous?
You’ve put forward an opinion on how ship training should work.
Others have shot your uninformed opinion full of holes.
You maintain your position in the face of all the evidence.
That’s just begging people to get a little short with you.

Wrong

@Mephiztopheleze Of the 4 people that responded so far one lost his temper, the other misunderstood the idea, and the two others didn’t make convincing arguments.

For example what is the point of skills requiring skills to train?

some googlefuAI

  • Logical progression:

Skills often build upon each other, meaning you need a certain level of proficiency in one skill to effectively learn the next.

  • Quality control:

By requiring prerequisite skills, training programs can ensure learners have the necessary foundation to succeed in more advanced training.

  • Efficiency:

This structure can optimize learning time by focusing on relevant skills in a logical order, preventing unnecessary repetition or confusion.

Example:

  • Learning to play a musical instrument:

To effectively play complex pieces, you need to first master basic finger positioning, note reading, and hand coordination.

  • Coding:

Before diving into advanced programming concepts, you need to understand fundamental syntax, variables, and basic logic structures
