What do you miss about Eve that is now gone?

When ppl would read my bio and tell me I needed professional help. The good old days and we will never see them again.

I don’t even know with what to begin , so I’ll just throw them randomly:

  • Old colored Neocom , this one hurts my eyes ;
  • Old Aura voice ;
  • The old animated gallente station interior ;
  • The old missile and torpedo explosion effects ;
  • Battleclinic ;
  • Small gang PvP fun ;
  • Can flipping and suspect games ;
  • Hate mails as a result of the mentioned above (now you destroy someones ship and no response at all) ;
  • Old char portraits ;
  • The golden days of RvB, Amamake, Syndicate, Curse , etc. ;
  • The fun times I had with Confederation of xXPIZZAXx ;
  • Ships on flames with the smoke trails ;
  • Mines ;
  • In game internet browser ;
  • My old Eve buddies that have quit along the way…

Rumbling around metropolis/placid low sec brawling against snuff and shadow cartel and Did he say jump and the rest in T3C’s and faction BS with Suddenly Spaceships.

want a Maller BPO?

Don’t like your newest changes in the game, seems the new overseers are looking to increase their revenue, unfortunately resource redistribution ( a communist manifesto ) is a terrible idea that doesn’t work in rl won’t work here as well, please rethink your strategy as your loyal base will be diminished

It’s there, you just have to make sure you consent to it first.

Plex tanking

Real high security space that wasn’t plagued by suicide gankers, ridiculous trig system flips, and incursions.

I miss Hulkageddon - that was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in Eve.

I’m going to flip this question on its head and talk about the things that I like that have been added to Eve:

I love the Venture. I remember jet can mining in a bantam and making only around 100K an hour. The wait to get into a mining barge was huge if you weren’t dedicating yourself strictly to mining (which I wasn’t). Nowadays, you can jump into a venture really quickly and make over a mil an hour fairly quickly. It took me about a week to get to my first mil when I first joined Eve.

I like that the probes now automatically place themselves in the correct position, rather than requiring you to manually overlap them. I remember spending hours reading tutorials and practicing and never getting it to work.

I’m glad that PI/PP is no longer the clickfest it was when it was first introduced. My first hiatus from Eve came shortly after they introduced it, and PI/PP was one of the major causes. It’s still more intensive than I would prefer but MUCH better than at launch.

I also like that we have dedicated newbie corporations for nullsec like Brave and Pandemic Horde. The first few corporations I joined were kinda ■■■■, and basically left me to figure out everything by myself. I was basically flying solo with some people that I would occasionally chat to. In fact, back in 2014, I ended up spending more time playing with a goon than I did anyone from my own corp/alliance. Then, after providing no guidance and leaving me to establish my own content, they started trying to guilt me about helping them with tedious and annoying stuff that they didn’t do a good job communicating beforehand.

PH has treated me well from the get go. I just rejoined yesterday after only 2 years (normally my hiatus is four), and it’s the first time I rejoined the same corp that I left when I stopped playing Eve.

I don’t miss it, but I kinda do. Now I can usually scout you down before you even catch the combat probes on d-scan.

It was a fun contest to see who scan him down 1st. Just under 2 min was our best avg if I remember correctly.

The motivation to play :c

I miss when people used to play EVE. We have to be @ less than 50% of peak subs and falling.

oh, off the top of my head (2004 player),

jukebox, warping to exact coordinate without 2.5km deviation, the huuuuuuge biography character limit we could write entire novels, the miscellaneous contract you could shove entire item/character links into without needing to bug everyone with alliance evemails, that captain’s quarters where you could stare at your ship or pretend to be immersed fully (but get bored and disable the feature for a while)

oh man, there’s a million things. i could go on and on
