What do you think would bring eve into a new golden age

I’ve noticed that, along with calling ganking “content creation”, another label the HS so-called “PvP” crowd likes to stick on ganking is “emergent gameplay”. I guess despite the fact that it’s completely within the rules they still feel the need to spin the use of overwhelming force against weak targets in safe space as something “edgy” and cool.

Just pointing out that doing something expected and known and within the rules isn’t “emergent gameplay”, even if it’s an as5hole thing to do that would normally get you banned in other games.

Now, if you had set up a trade embargo and created a system for charging everyone tariffs on everything they shipped in and out of Dodixie, that might have qualified as emergent.

I can assure you that regardless of how the hi-sec “PvPers” are still moaning and crying to this die that CCP “killed their playstyle” (when they’ve actually buffed it as often as they’ve nerfed it), CCP would be totally fine with people gatecamping a trade hub.

It is emergent gameplay , suck it up buttercup.

What you are suggesting is BORING with NO RISK.

No, sorry, “playing by the rules to be a dick” really isn’t emergent gameplay. It’s just using the established rules to be a dick.

And what, pray tell, is it that you think I’m suggesting? Particularly the BORING and NO RISK parts?

I’d be quite interested to know, but I suspect it means you’re just another knee-jerk responder who sees a post and spits out a standard “anti-carebear” reply without actually following the conversation.

Looks like you, doesn’t she?

Ah, okay. I see you’re much too upset to be able to understand anything I’ve actually suggested, as opposed to whatever you either imagined or failed the reading comprehension test on.

I’ll leave you alone for a bit then. Perhaps a time-out will make you feel better.

Why does Kezrai whine so much?

It’s just a game…

How about we have the ability to build onto Moons simular to how we can build onto Planets.
The idea is that the Extraction Process will work even while we are afk Mining the exploded chunk asteroid belt.

This would be an awesome idea if everyone hopped on board this partly derailed thread.
(stop fighting with Kezrai …Aiko)

now imagine that in large scale fleet battles with 3000 players…
NO THANKS

And along with their blessing of adding additional moon material extraction methods that promotes bot-aspirant behavior…

James315 would of been proud!

How did we miss this, yes pirate hats a must for Y125

Is snarking from the sidelines from an account that’s had no activity for 6 years emergent gameplay ? Seems to be a lot of that around here. Never mind ‘real PvP’ or not…one can divide this forum into two groups…

  1. Those who actually play Eve on a regular basis and are happy to post on accounts that show that.

  2. Those that don’t. And who provide zero indication that their comments are thus based on actual experience of the game.

Don’t worry, Kezrai will pretend to have secret experience.

Also, Kezrai is definatalie not an alt of anyone who says identical things.

How to Waste Ten+ Years of Your Life In the Forums

  1. Create yet another alt
  2. Deny that killboards are relevant, because anybody who glances at a killboard is ridiculous, and insist you have PvP experience which isn’t on a killboard (remember, you are a secret space agent, so you can’t provide details)
  3. Insist you understand game mechanics better than people with years of verifiable ingame experience, whilst pretending you are just an objective non-biased individual who merely wants to help make EvE Online a better game
  4. Use a snarky condescending tone to explain that ganking is easy, without any evidence that you’ve ever even tried to gank. Remember, you could make lots of isk ganking (if you wanted), but it’s boring and you prefer a CHALLENGE.
  5. Do a little concern trolling about griefers, whilst insulting and harassing people (bonus points if you use inappropriate language and attack someone’s IRL identity)
  6. Emphasize that you have no special grudge against ganking, and in fact you may even think ganking is good for the game, or have no real particular interest in the subject, but you just happen to roll out yet another long multi-paragraph bitter rant that nobody is going to read (feel free to plagarize your previous alt)
  7. Allude (once again) to your elite activities on some other character which doesn’t even exist, suggesting that you have some special expertise or insight which makes you even more knowledgeable and insightful than people who have years of verifiable experience and success, act like it’s absurd for anyone to doubt this, and repeatedly report them for “harassing” you
  8. Spam the forums for a few months with repetitive one-sided ranting, constantly whining about how you just want to have a reasonable discussion
  9. If anyone says you are an alt, gaslight them and complain about harassment, act like it’s completely ridiculous to even think that you are the newest alt in a decade long chain of alts who all say the exact same identical things
  10. Report anyone who disagrees with you, whilst whining about ISD moderation (bonus points if you suggest gankers are sleeping with the devs)
  11. Create another alt and repeat

This is a particularly humorous point in my experience, as this person in particular (and a few of our other favorite old regulars to a slightly lesser extent) literally couldn’t shut up about me not having recent kill board activity when I came back to EVE a few years ago after a real-life hiatus, just because I posted pro-PvP perspectives. Then when I got reacquainted with the game and started murdering people again, the argument turned into me “killing defenseless rookies instead of doing REAL PvP with elite null-sec warriors.” Then when it became evident that elite null-sec warriors were the only players I was killing because they were literally my only viable targets, the argument turned into me playing EVE for “easy griefing PvP” instead of playing a REAL PvP game like Counter-Strike because obviously I’m too afraid and unskilled for it, etc. etc.

The goal posts keep moving all the time, despite these people not meeting a single one of their own qualifications, ever.

Another one I really like. I would even be totally willing to go out on a limb and believe these claims in good faith, if at the very least the advice they were giving was mechanically-relevant.

How many times have we seen someone completely misrepresent what “aligning” means, or alleging cheating/exploits because multi-boxing gankers arrive from warp together instead of trickling in?

These people don’t even play the game at all, they just post.

Have you killed any ships, ever?

Since there is no evidence you have a clue what you are talking about, and when asked directly you refuse to provide evidence, it’s hardly surprising that nobody takes you seriously or considers your arguments compelling. I guess you can call that a “boost” or a “win”, but I’d call it a total waste of time to respond.

If you want to debate game mechanics, it’s going to be necessary for you to provide at least some evidence that you have ever played the game.

Tell you what - why don’t you link any statement of mine that hinges on my vast PvP experience, or my ability to gank weaponless ships in high sec space, or my many fleet battles, and I’ll be happy to retract that statement.

In fact, feel free to reference any of my posts that refer to “game mechanics” at all and show where I was wrong about them.

It’s no more necessary for me to “provide” you with anything than it is for you to show a modicum of respect or mercy when ganking. If you don’t like what I post, that’s too bad. Suck it up.

But when you can’t even debate the point, and have to resort instead to misdirection and ad hominems, all that does is show the weakness of your own position.

I’m perfectly fine with you rolling over and showing your belly in defeat, but you may not be.

Any argument you make is inherently based upon the claim that you have some sort of experience which justifies your opinion. However, since there is no evidence you have any experience, it is impossible to have a reasoned discussion based upon your expertise or understanding.

You lack experience to determine what is “overwhelming force”, what is “weak”, and what is “safe”. Without direct PvP experience, you lack the ability to determine the strength of a target or the difficulty and risk inherent to any scenario.

Since you lack experience, you can’t actually judge this.

There’s no evidence that you have any experience with ganking, either as ganker or gankee. Consequently, you cannot judge whether I show respect or mercy, and you are merely making personal attacks devoid of any basis in reality or fact.

You lack experience, and your opinion is not backed by facts or experience.

How would you know?

There is no evidence you have any experience whatsoever.

How would you know? You don’t seem to have any experience, so I’m not sure you are capable of recognizing “weapons” or assessing how challenging it is to kill a target. For example, most mining ships have drones, but you do not appear to recognize these weapons, which suggests (once again) that you lack experience.

There’s no evidence that you have any experience with this, and you do not appear qualified to assess how challenging any activity is.

There’s no evidence you have experience as a game developer, and there is no evidence you have experience as a player of this game (or any MMO).

======

You are someone who trolls with bluster and opinion, but there is no evidence you have any experience or skill, and your opinions are consequently worthless.

Come back when you have played the game.
