What gamers want?

Just think how bad it would feel if you had paid for your ships with real money and you were getting blown up every 10 minutes.

Team Woke.

:bullseye: Target Audience

  • Job seekers in the gaming industry
  • Potential recruits, especially creatives, developers, and diversity hires

Did you see ANYONE working on the base game?

Money well spent?

Ah…yet another in your long series of ‘Let’s Invent A Gripe’ threads.

No torch or pitchfork…

I don’t know what other players want. However if they cannot find it within the first hour of game play, it is highly unlikely they will stick around.

Other games have been accused of being too aggressive as well. My husband plays those war games style arenas, and he gets people threatening him all the time. Most are just children who get mad when they get sniped or shot in back. They do attract large audience, just look at Call of Duty.

I play casually, I mostly mine ore in low sec on one account. The other is my PvP account, out of those 3 characters, my best one is at 30% dangerous. I am not sure how relates to my aggressive tendencies. I would incline to disagree to making high sec a 100% safe place. I don’t think even low sec is all that dangerous.

My neighbor would agree with this statement. He places a lot of blame ( for just about everything ) squarely on the shoulders of the under 30 year old crowd. Where I stated above, “within the first hour” he would say within 20 minutes for this generation of gamers.

Some people do, not everyone. Since I happen to know 2 to 3 percent of the population are sociopaths, a game titled that would appeal to them. Oh, and before someone jumps in and says, I just called everyone a serial killer, I did not. There are a lot of functional sociopaths in society that never resort to violence.

No one can say what the new gamers want, except themselves. The trick is finding it. It is almost impossible to make a game that appeals to everyone, if you ever do then you caught lightening in a bottle.

Have fun!

Depends on your personality. I feel worse losing a ship I actually earned.

The whole point in this regard, is the P2Wer would never attack if the game didn’t have P2W, they would never take the time to earn the first ship. And everyone actually earning their ships would be free from these game breaking (to people who think you should earn your ships) attacks.

EDIT 2 typos

Who says he has to use civilian stuff? From the career paths you can get more stuff. One can easily farm the 50mil or so it takes to do gas huffing and do that, making a lot more than even null ores will. Not to mention all the upfront SP you get from the ACP in general.

i do blow and get blow up a lot yet i don’t feel pain

You can ‘win’ EVE ?

See…this is what I find absurd. The very same people who whine about people ‘winning’ EVE are the ones who also say no-one even cares about killboard, how well anyone is doing, how much ISK anyone has…etc, etc.

So…which is it ? Make up your minds as they can’t both be true.

Now you’re being condescending. There is no winning any MMO, even mobile games. “Pay to Win” is a common expression among all games with transactions. You clearly know that. I know you do. What I don’t know is why you’re choosing to attack him for using it.

If there are no winners, then there are also no losers.

So the miners will be just fine.

I never said otherwise.

Well there might not be for you…but I’m doing nicely.

I have everything I want out of this game right now

That’s sort of like marking your own exam papers and giving yourself an A+ every time.

I mean, what possible reason is there for advancement if you are already A+ all the time ? Without some relative scale ( and killboard is a part of that ) it is all meaningless.

I’d give myself a B- and ‘could do better’…compared with those 10,000 solo kills players I’m aware of. It gives me a genuine marker to judge my status.
