I’m perfectly fine with what I said.
And you were right.
Those two have tried to derail the thread and have completely ignored the fact that these things were not added recently or at the cost of additions to High Sec. They certainly werent at the cost of bringing goo-mining to High Sec, the ground work for that infrastructure being new additions already in place.
Inb4 “Show me where I said that”.
Moon mining lite, anyways. Which wiil be just another wasted effort because that’s nothing highsec dwellers wanted or requested.
What CCP thinks that will happen: "Give them watered drug as a gateway drug, they will get hooked, then they will go for the real stuff in null"
What will happen: "This watered drug is a piece of sh*t not worth the bother and if I wanted the drug then I would be in null… now where’s my next Damsel to rescue?"
What will happen 2: “There’s a source of watered drug in highsec and nobody is taking it, send there our noobs so they can contribute to The Null Cause”
Aftermath: “CCP added moon mining to highsec and carebears coamplained it was made to favor null! The ungrateful bastids!”
I am betting all of 1 newplex, anyone taking the bet?
deleted to fix
lol.
The reason I think its important to do, is that moon goo is uncompressible, and its extra skills for the crystals, both of which a lot of people will now realise before they setup a lowsec/null refinery or come use someone elses, through experience. Most of the other ‘lite’ content behaves much as it does in null, which is good, not bad, and now mining in highsec will potentially provide further grounding for later mining in null.
However, as an aside

Bear in mind this stuff was worth 100s / unit before the patch, and bear in mind I made a bet on this stuff doing this, when I chose my moons. This is in a ubiq that will be on some highsec moons. Its certainly going to be valuable until highsec afk murders it.
Nope - ubiq’s were not originally part of the communicated deal to us, and that affects those of us that took this bet.
This
EXACTLY THIS!
I just wanted to point out I have seen limited, standard, and superior sleeper caches in Hi-sec. You apparently havent looked very hard.
I think you are confusing sleeper and ghost sites.
No, I have done sleeper caches in hisec too.
It’s good, nobody said sleeper cache don’t appear in HS. Nice to agree to agree.
What I said is : in HS you can’t find standard/superior covert research sites (AKA ghost sites), while in null you can find superior. I never found limited/standard in null.
I believe when Ghost sites were implemented, it was set up so that all sectors of space had to be visited in order to collect the required materials to manufacture the BPC’s.
Exactly, and the really good ones had 0 chance to spawn in highsec. The reason was so players who wanted to get the best rewards had to “leave their comfort zone”, as CCP Affinity said to a concerned player. After that, I just hoped she lost her effin job for being such arrogant b*tch, but frankly, later has become obvious that she was not alone and the whole CCP is tainted with the “jump through this hoop if you want something worth your sub money” attitude towards highsec and PvE.
Yeah, I didn’t like how it was set up with 4 different site levels, each level spawning in a specific sector of space. In my opinion all Ghost site levels should have spawned randomly in all sectors of space. Also all 4 loot cans should have been named the same instead of having 1 can named differently.
Hell it didn’t really matter anyway, with a Cargo Scanner you can easily find and hack the 1 can holding the good loot. Then just warp out before the site timer expired, basically just a race against the clock. CCP should have made the cans immune to cargo scans.
in HS you can open the 4 cans, 80%, with one ship. and tank the rats when it happens.
I have some issues doing it in null, the mauler is too heavy with plates and the minigames are harder. I just hack one non-special, then the special, then what I can, and OL my hardener when rats spawn.
I have max hacking and T3 cruiser skills with Exploration subsystem using a T2 Hacking mod and I’ve never been able to open all 4 cans. 3 cans max is all I’ve been able to hack.
God forbid there be exploration in exploration content, or reward for taking some risks.
Do you even engage in exploration?
If so, where?
Of course. I currently live in syndicate, and the last few months have involved running content around syndicate, cloud ring, outer ring, and when there was a lot of camping, I ran ded 5s in solitude. Owning a moon in syndicate was subject to MC, NC or initiative and their super fleets until very recently, so moon mining is a recent occupation for me, and is always subject to whoever wants to attack us.
In previous incarnations I lived in Vale, solitude and aridia. I ran ghost sites when I lived in Vale. As an aside I have never noticed a ghost site in syndicate.
I’d go further and say that most gamers are not only carebears, they are solo carebears. It’s certainly how I play, and if you look at games generically, then teamplay games are in the minority. Especially forced teamplay games, usually in groups of five or so. That design seems a recalcitrant holdover from devs who think that it caused the success of WoW, so therefore must be shoehorned into every MMO to make it a might beast of a game. Sadly these designs always fail to create growth, but who knows, maybe if enough devs in enough games force enough players to play in groups then it might work, one day, perhaps.
I read that battleships are available for free players now, so I might pop in to play a bit, but I only really mine a bit, and shoot up some pirate bases a bit, and I only do that in High Sec, because I get interrupted in my real life quite a bit. So I can’t go on massive day long raids when playing any game.
I potter, I don’t really play in the frenetic style so beloved of Twitchers and other exciting broadcasters. While I play I chat in real life to people around me about other stuff, EVE is a background activity, sort of like watching a more interesting TV show, or listening to the radio.
What I do like doing is creating stuff, not just items but the whole character development fits into that as well, so does housing etc. So maybe I’ll log in one day and create a little home in space one day, if they could be made individual that would be lovely, but I’m going to bet that the only thing that changes on them is the name of the owner.
I never thought that a space game would be the final frontier of imagination.

I have max hacking and T3 cruiser skills with Exploration subsystem using a T2 Hacking mod and I’ve never been able to open all 4 cans. 3 cans max is all I’ve been able to hack.
I’ve done it repeatedly in HS. All you need is 20k ehp (even less I think), the minigame is so easy you can do it with basic skills and module.
of course if you prefer to fit a scanner rather than a mwd this changes the result.
I think this fit should be able to do them in HS, LS and null. remove the bling in LS/HS. Of Course need a nulli in null.
