What has happened to this game?

But if you’re saying it’s meaningless, surely you’re the one ignoring it.

Does that mean it’s your issue?

And again you purposely ignore the statement of ‘Get revenge’ in an attempt to portray that presentation out of context.

I’m ganking RIGHT NOW.

It looks like CCP approves of ganking!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Well I’ve been playing for 9 days now, I logged in here 12 mins ago.

I am going to put you on my blog: https://www.james315.space/

Your issue, period. Yawn

Nope. Takes a year, maybe two at most. Past that point if someone hasn’t caught up yet, it’s only because they’re a high-sec PvE-grinding chump.

Those changes didn’t directly result in a massive reduction to destroyed ships and items.

I never said anything about it being hardcore. All I said was that it’s a game about a struggle for wealth and power.

You’re allowed to hold any view you want, just like the rest of us. My view is that we should go back to 2006-2010 EVE’s game design, which should line up nicely with your desires since that was the time that EVE’s population was growing from the equivalent to what it is today, to a peak of 60,000.

That was also the time when you could get shot at just by joining someone else’s fleet, when wars didn’t need the ownership of a structure to initiate, and when stealing someone’s ore didn’t make you a suspect. Although to be fair, we can keep that last one, since it can be exploited for more piracy and destruction quite nicely.

I’m sorry you had to experience this discrimination against new players from these bitter vets.

You see on these forums, a person cannot just be a new player with an opposing opinion. We are all alts specifically made to get under their skin.

So you are arguing that the reduction of Highsec griefing mechanics had the counterintuitive effect of reducing player retention? Do you seriously expect anyone to believe that making EVE more safe is a bad idea? Why, because new players don’t enjoy a boring game?

No, I would never do this. I am a trustable forum citizen.

Im a big time pvper. But I started out running industrial content. I still enjoy it from time to time. Over the weekend checking the map uedema had more kills than delve. This is how bad ganking has gotten and its destroying the highsec playstyles. It needs to go

I wasn’t even a day old so I could’ve been an alt, I can see why he thought I was an alt, but they need to accept that new players exist too :frowning:

I’m not ignoring it. You purposely read too much into it.

And then you attribute players quitting to it when it’s as much about players staying.

Well as long as you’re here for honest debate…

Don’t you know that most newbros want to play a game like FARMVILLE or CANDY CRUSH? It is only a very small part of the gaming culture that wants to play intense PvP games like PUBG, Fortnite, Escape from Tarkov, Starcraft, or World of Tanks. PvP is just kid stuff, but CCP needs to capture the retired mom and grandpa market, and those people want safe calm grinding which they can do while watching television and knitting.

Are you?

I have told your previously that this presentation was too narrow and meaningless, but you invited me in to have another roll in the hay over it.

It’s funny how you say that to this person, but you didn’t say it to the OP, who did the exact same thing. In fact, you were the first person to send them a like.

Double standards don’t matter when you’re a righteous video game paladin of justice, it seems.

Wow, typical troll, misrepresent what I say and portray it as something else. You’re delusional if you think I’m crying about High Sec ganking.

Yes!

I’ve just asked where you think I’ve been dishonest.

We’ve had a million back and forths you and i, but don’t forget I’m the one who told you about the destroyers losing their 25% rof penalty.

I knew that there was a major change in 2011 I think that buffed the destroyers into ganking machines, I had just forgotten what it exactly was. You told me it was the removal of the -25% ROF penalty. I thanked you for giving me that detail.

So just FYI: that was a time when gankers even got paid CONCORD insurance.

Oh, I absolutely agree that we need to implement a way for AGs to engage gankers more openly.

I spit-balled a system a long time ago that basically made it so that if someone engages a ganker while a gank is in progress, the AG would supersede the CONCORD response. This would technically allow AGs to potentially destroy gankers quicker than the CONCORD response would, but at the same time would allow gankers to fight back and turn it into an actual fight.

It was trolled out of existence by the carebears of that time.
