What is Causing EVE to Die?

You said this:

Which is simply not true as a factual statement. SOME will but others won’t, “being solo” isn’t a determining factor. Just like how lots of people who DO join big groups “stop having fun” doesn’t mean that stating “people who join big groups stop having fun” makes sense.

You’re making absolute statements about something that is nuanced.

Well that’s odd…as I’ve gone from group play to solo play, which I now spend more time doing. But this was a necessary part of my evolution, as I’ve learned vastly more about ship fittings and combat in 4 months of solo play that I ever did in 3 years of flying F1 monkey in doctrine ship fleets.

So there is a downside to being in groups, being told what to fly, when to fly, and so on. And to be honest…less of a sense of achievement. I want to be formidable…and I think solo is the quickest way to get there.

Okay fair enough, I guess I see some of the issues you’re referring to. Not sure it would be any different in another thread tho. If I think of something useful to discuss I’ll go ahead with one.

when you observe 9 out of 10 ppl(or animals in nature) with in the same category type doing/responding/expiring in the same exact way, it does not become nuanced but observed activity.

I know im not the only one that has had these observations…
Why do you think many of the Ganking community or the "PvP’ community talk the same way about these people?? because its nuanced?

But i digress, im not going to go in circles with you, or anyone else for that matter…

I think to understand this game better is to understand one of the final founders still working at CCP and to understand the nature of the question of this thread…so i will leave this here.

I’ve been here over 12 years myself, but I couldn’t begin to quantify every other player and how they feel in game.

i never talked about feelings…just behavioral conditions and observations…

I dont care about feelings, just the actions and the results of them.

Eve has more players now then it ever has as far as i can tell. Over 30k consistently. There is so much market demand in jita that the market is breaking.

I have been hearing “eve is dying” for 6 or more years. This is just a bait, like which is better, Pepsi or Coke? I see people buying plex right and left. People playing with 8 omega accounts. Unless you have some actual data on CCP’s finances, you are just wanting something to gossip about.

Do you see the issue you just highlighted?

CCP’s bottom line is income.

If fewer people want to multibox more, what’s the problem?

He/she did not write that Eve playing was stopped. Only giving money to CCP. You know you can play EVE without giving money to CCP, right? By being Alpha or by using ISK for PLEX? Such things should be known.

It’s not a problem until someone points at the online numbers whilst pointing out the amount of multiboxers.

If everyone had 8 Omega accounts there would only be 3750 individual players when 30k were showing online.

Yes CCP will be getting the cash one way or another, but the showing of how many players are online is a lie.

im curious…

As a “solo” player, why do you even care about any of that?

You are doing that right now, but what’s the problem?

EvE has 5000 multiboxers, or 30,000 solo players - who cares?

Run as many as you want - no problem.

I don’t particularly.

But for new players looking for a corp the numbers showing don’t add up for them. They’ll join a corp expecting say 60 members only to find out down the line there’s only 9 or 10 individuals.

I’ve been there, and left within hours.

It’s why I’m solo now, you just can’t trust the numbers anymore.

ah ok i see…

you expected a group of 60 people…expectations went up in smoke…
so you left the corp basically immediately…

Instead of trying to interact and ask questions.
Instead of trying to be a team player.

and you went solo and formulated an attitude and opinion that is the cornerstone of:

What is Causing EvE to Die.

I get it
have fun being solo and irrelevant

Corp info should not only show total number of members but also number of members logged in last 30 days.

Corps lists 500 members, you join and turns out 400 haven’t logged in last 3 months and only 40 have in the last month. 12 are online but but none of them talk.

For someone getting angry when others tell you that you keep going on about solo stuff, to then pretty much deny it. You sure do keep talking about how solo is bad.

not angry at all…

just accepting proof of my point of view

I use zkillboard when considering what corps to join.

No idea why anyone would use corp info or expect ‘talk’.

Sure, so would I and most other experienced players. But not newer players and those are important when talking about what this thread is about.
