What is Causing EVE to Die?

Says who?

Like solo mining mission agents?

ā€œWhat is Causing Eve to Die?ā€

ā€¦endless threads asking what is causing Eve to die. That is what is causing Eve to die. The endless drip, drip, drip of poisoning the well.

No, I am the reason the rum is gone, not the reason Eve is dying.

Warp bubble immunity for Interceptors, but they nerfed that

ā€œI agree that this is all because of the gankers, they are already killing easily even in high-sec.ā€

Thatā€™s what he wrote.

They gave shuttles bubble immunity

It sums up most threads. To the point where with almost every thread I now askā€¦is this really a game issue, or a player issue.

Do you think the game is thriving? The childish insults (I acknowledged it was fair that I lost my stuff, I have suggested a way it could be improved = butthurt) are so odd when I am not saying what you think - or perhaps what youā€™d rather I was saying.

All of this ā€˜it works for me therefore it should stay the same foreverā€™ is so bizarre. I mean a genuine post saying ā€˜I got through it, therefore the problem is the hundreds of thousands of people who were interested but didnā€™tā€™ is hilarious. I run a business with milllions of users. You know how we learn? We listen equally to the people who stay and the people who go, and we find a nice balance that addresses the reasons people leave, without impacting our core users too much.

I asked this in the other thread, but what is it that CCP have done that makes people think they ā€˜cater to carebearsā€™? No meaningful changes have been made to the agency of newer or more passive players in 20+ years, yet you guys are still insistent that somehow everything is going in the wrong direction. Literally living in a fantasy world, and making up strawmen to try and dismiss opinions that are inconvenient.

Nobodyā€™s actually saying that. I could list 100 things in Eve that donā€™t ā€˜work for meā€™ as Iā€™d like. But none of them would involve fundamental changes to the entire way Eve works.

All too often the response to any issue in Eve is to ask to simply ban or remove the alleged offending item or playstyle. The problem with these approaches is that theyā€™re asking to remove a fundamental part of what makes Eve what it is.

But you are asking for Eve to effectively not be Eve any moreā€¦in order to ā€˜fixā€™ that perceived issue. There are almost certainly far better steps ( I suggested a ā€˜play penā€™ area for noobs ) that donā€™t involve fundamentally altering the way the game works.

Again, I donā€™t disapprove of the idea, just donā€™t let it have any in game impact on the markets. You would basically have to have a different server?

Technically not. The ideaā€™s been suggested beforeā€¦ pretty sure @Aisha_Katalen and I had some posts along this line a few years ago.

Basically youā€™d need players to start in a self-contained area like Pochven, and then jump/filament out of it when theyā€™re ready, with no way back in. Then it would have no economic impact on the rest of EVE but would let them train whatever for however long they chose.

Although it was tossed out as an idea, itā€™s not a very good one since it would likely be pretty boring in there.

This part I like.

While boring for players, it should be implemented simply because I had to suffer through boring learning skills. JK.

Still a good place to learn. Shame they took Sisi away. Thats where I tested my fits and some gameplay.

It would be a small region, maybe half a dozen systems that simulate highsec, lowsec, and null, for which nothing inside it ( ISK, ships, etc ) could be taken out. Essentially an extended NPE where the player gets to try things out, without some pre-set schedule that the actual NPE hasā€¦but perhaps with certain ā€˜generalā€™ lessons. One could even have ships up to a certain level made available for free ( but never taken outside the system ) and have NPCs that would simulate ganking, gate camping, etc, etc. The noob would be allowed some periodā€¦maybe 60 days or 90 days, in which they can stay in the area but can leave whenever they like but cannot return again after that.

Really, it would be quite similar to the extended ā€˜boot campā€™ training areas that many games have before you start the ā€˜mainā€™ game.

So true, we use to mine on SiSi in total peace

We had only been ganked one time on SiSi

Please bring it back.

By your alt?
