If that were true, he would send a billion isk to me, for absolutely nothing in return, thereby proving that his wallet is truly bottomless. I will check later to see if he proved his wealth. If he does, that will change everything.

It’s very obviously the constant nerfs to PvP content over the years. Population has been declining ever since it started and will continue until many of these barriers are removed (which is unlikely). The new player experience used to be amazing because you could actually catch up with older players through nefarious means. Now the rich only get richer and the poor only get poorer. The people who provide no real depth or content to the game and just wanna PvE by themselves are the only ones who stick around and that isn’t sustainable for a player driven economy nor does it create a fun/immersive gaming environment.

There are many mining type games to play on Steam that are solo play without cheat codes.
SiSi once gave that experience of just mining because it is fun to sit with the barge out on a belt.
Isk has zero value compared with feeling of accomplishment that can be found with mining in New Eden
Ok, if you find it a peaceful pastime, then go for broke! But don’t expect it to cross over to the actual game.
