Ture. But anything can be abused. A chair is meant for seating, but one can pick it up and bludgeon another to death with it. Should chairs be considered lethal weapons?
Again it is up to CCP to plug the leaks.

And the only way to do that is to get rid of free Alpha accounts and go back to subscription-only. And they arenât going to do thatâŠ
Lots of players have all kinds of ideas about what needs to change in EVE. 99% of them want those changes solely to benefit their particular playstyle, no matter the detrimental effects it would have elsewhereâŠ
Thereâs half a dozen of these selfish â â â â monkeys posting regularly in this thread and the wardec thread.
If you look at the OP in each thread and see whoâs at the front of the line in the âTop repliesâ box, youâll find the worst offender.
Mr Epeen
No sweetie, she doesnât have forum alts.
So she is not the beautiful, smooth and heavy ganker that froze our hearts for all eternity, as long as the stars are shining in New Eden?
Yet how do you know this?
Because she said so
I am not quite so noble as Her Royal Gankiness, sorry.
âThe lineâ forms from left to right - you had it backwards.
(Or itâs possible you were sorting by âMost likedâ rather than âMost postsâ, which I believe is what Mr. Epeen was referring to.)
The lineâ forms from left to right - you had it backwards.
That was because I was looking at the same Mirror of Erised. that Glenduil is referring too.
I donât see you or anyone else who disagree with my other points in that post. I will assume the remainder of my post is what matters. I know CCP wonât remove free to play accounts, it is not in their best interest. Also it wonât matter, if they did, to the many alpha players who already seldom play the game. Removing the alpha accounts would have the most effect on those vets abusing them for making ISK to mine Plex for them. While I only run an alpha account here, I seldom play PvE or PvP. I just drop in to juggle my markets. I donât even really âspendâ the profits anymore. To me this is just a stock simulator. Once in a great while I might move stuff in a hauler, but it seems more tame out there than ever before. Eve returning to 100% sub would not matter to me. I just disagree with the notion, the players are responsible for killing an online game. We all know the developers and the publishers are in charge.
That mirror that you had referred too sure must be addictive as how could there be less safety, more carnage while allowing Capsuleers still being able to do their own thing?
There will be a balance and I strongly feel that they have the balance that we need for the future of New Eden.
Having a greater sense of safety becomes rather bland so that would not make EVE great again.
Fine tune the balance between safety, carnage and Capsuleers will be able to do what they want to do.

Happy to be an âoffenderâ. Especially if it annoys you in particular

How is there less safety? 12 years ago, youâd get gate camped just for being on autopilot. There was no Alpha. You had to pay your sub or you couldnât log in yet there were still attacks all the time. Lots of people and lots of fun. Now? People are lazy.
Safe to assume they already know it.
Apparently, many donât!
Zaera is the smartest of them all.
Hubris is a trait that will get you killed in this game. I was very good apparently, but there always better players. Grid Fu as an example.
while broadcasting my position
I used to do that with my Orca for new players when I tried mining. Turned out I would rather watch paint dry. At least new players were worth trying to help back then.
Not true.
There could be a lot more safety and change the wardec system to allow Corporations to op out of being wardec week after week without a recovery period.
The forum needs more

its not just the pvp
its mostly the delusional whales living in eve for 10-20 years spending an incredible amount of isk to be a CEO in some random alliance and play big strategy. meanwhile wars are a garbage experience because there is no spontaneous combustion of conflicts, there is only bashing timers and nobody wants to wake up at 03:00 to defend a sotyio or an ansiplex for a small alliance - so its not even attacked. the galaxy is boring.
and because its boring the people are thirsty of memories they have from the time when the game was new and expansions were actually fun and bringing content (unlike this pile of garbage revenant with its 2 new ship and the overcomplicated sov system changes)
so they would grief you for the entire year if it gives them a little action, and if you are sad of losing your unarmed mining ship and let them know, its even better, half the player base is getting high on your bad gaming experience
industry, and especially mining - its run by bots and whales in the blue donut, if you are in a small alliance, or coaliton, you are only content and training ground for the blue donut
filaments, and cloak will allow anyone to do anything in null, it takes 10 people to catch one cloaky ship that drops 10 redeemer on a solo retriever or vexor - thats how thirsty they are for action.
ccp doesnt care. ccp only listen to the money. âwe hear your opinionâ. if that would be true, eve could have grown to a player base of 50 or 100 thousand in 20 year. dont tell me its a difficult game, there is just enough smart nerd out there with a scifi kink to jump in eve. but most people look at it, give it a try, and leave in a short time.
so the same addicted and delusional people and their flock of corps farming for them like little slaves raving on a 50% moon tax, and 80% buyback, hundreds of bot accounts printing isk each day, 5 guy with 50 account to protect them, and like 100-300 average player flying with 1-5 account fleets when they ping something because they want to be the part of if (SOMETHING FINALLY HAPPENING IN THE GAME!!!) theres a fleet. thats an of the big coalition right now.
new player experience is : log in, undock, die, - buy plex - buy ships - log in, undock, die
by the time they understand its impossible to enjoy any kind of activity except griefing they are either too invested to stop or leave with a bad memory and enver come back
âyou need to be resilient and cunning to play eveâ
sure, the game still wont be fun. especially not as miner when the reward of your work is the absolute worst of any income and the highest risk of all, because a 10 day old account with lvl1 skills sitting in a catalyst will kill your entire fleet of retrievers and porpoise before your drones on full aspect of lvl5 skills do any damage to its structure
people train into a certain ship, print isk while afk, then sit in a pvp ship to destroy anyone actually trying to do indy or exploration or anything that needs actually paying attention to the game and contributes to the economy
there are a few hundred people stuck in the game, playing 2000 account, there are a few thousand people jumping in and out of eve, playing 1-10 account
ccp created an environment that does not support anyone or anything except griefers and it feeds on the whales buying plex, and they do not care for how long this can go on - they will do a minimum effort to keep the whales paying, and they dont care if the game dies, they dont care if nobody wants to join eve, they are already rich from it, so if you dont like eve, they will only say what any pvp player would say
âhaha eve is not your gameâ
incoherent lore/ inadequate lore progression.
EVE online lore has the potential to be more engaging than many best-selling science-fiction novels, am not even getting into player-stories.
It has the potential such that non-eve players will play eve to be part of this engaging science-fiction lore first hand instead of experiencing it as a third-person as in a movie/novel. In the past graphics was a customer acquisition pull, now its time for the in-game lore created by the devs to be the pull which brings in new customers and raises revenue for the IP.CCP already makes op trailers, whats stopping them from expanding the lore weekly/monthly in a coherent & engaging manner?
what do you say? @CCP_Swift
The last few events have followed a bit closer to the lore, with the Drifter Siege of Zarzakh being the last one. Making it more visible/accessible is certainly something we can work on, though!
Making it more visible/accessible is certainly something we can work on, though!
So returning to how it used to be before the Lore / fiction section was gutted?
