I am a brand new player to EVE Online. I just started playing the game a couple days ago. I already bought a reoccurring OMEGA membership, as well as invested money into buying Plex to sell for a good chunk of starting ISK. This game is deeply immersive and has depth not only in the game mechanics but the social aspect as well. I plan on making this game a major part of my life in regards to hobbycraft. As a good percent of players have been at this game for years! I mean YEARS! What other game can you really say cultivates a sustained committed player base as EVE Online. Not many MMOās have stood the test of time in the capacity EVE Online has. Sure the game has a learning curve, but Rookie Chat is fantastic and my hat goes off to the seasoned players willing to lend a helping hand in the chat box for us beginners. Other games will rival EVE, like Star Citizen. But no game hits like EVE and it will evolve with the competition. From what Iāve seen the CCP staff havenāt ruined the game overtime as some developers do with there MMOās they have breeded a thorough player base, rolling with the times. Sureā¦ Players come and go, as they do in any game. I was recently put onto EVE and I immediately fell in love. I think in a major way itās a means of advertising the game to susceptible players. Iāve heard about this game for years, never gave it a try. As most gamers can say. Everyone has heard of EVE in the gaming community, but how many havenāt tried it versus those who have tried it and quit! Targeting a new player base with new means of advertising is what will make this game grow and sustain a larger player base. This game isnāt going anywhere anytime soon! I can at least be assured of that. And not only, (some will call me corny for this perspective) but as society grows more into the technology age this game will appeal to more of a younger generation. There is always a calm before the storm. I am a new player and here to stay I am sure of it, and Iām not the only new player who has this mindset. All of you seasoned master players started off just like me and the rest of the new players. In my opinion as a brand new, committed player. I believe this game will only grow, even if at a snails pace!
I think you overplay this point, even though there is āsomeā truth in it. Not everyone has some Ferengi style obsession with profit. For many the kill itself is motivation. And for the latter the real issue is how much loss one is prepared to take to get that kill. For example I have a 20m ISK ganking Moa that Iād quite happily use on a ship half that costā¦just for the kill. On the other hand, using my 170m ISK Talos to gank a Venture would be overkill and carrying on doing that would be unsustainable too. But there is a level at which players will take a loss for a killā¦so it isnāt entirely about profit.
I would say CCP charging 25% more per month claiming it was desperately needed whilst simultaneously not focusing on Eve and continuing to make unwanted new ultra niche IPās going against all customer insight collected.
There is no #mingle chat in Eve Online
Wishing that I perhaps mingle inside of #WWIG but canāt seem to sneak inside.
Welcome to the war soldier. Now go out and make some content! Btw even these forums are part of the EVE story so youāre already further along than most.
In EVE all content regarding it is EVE content!
Alright Iāll shut up, now carry on.
