What makes EVE feel like a joke of a game to you

I love when the op goes out of his way to be off-topic :joy:

The Moderators here are ā€˜avid EVE playersā€™, which means they are NOT sympathetic to complaints or posts that reveal what playing EVE Online is actually like. The moderators wonā€™t silence or reprimand the posters that are obviously trying to bait you into a flamewar. They will declare this thread, Unproductive, and close it. And thatā€™s what they want. (One personā€™s sole contribution to this thread has been to do nothing but bait the OP into a flamewar.)

The facts of EVE Online gameplay are undisputable.
EVE Online does NOT aim for balanced, competitive PvP, EVE Online is designed to give an Aggressor every conceivable advantage over a victim.
EVE Online mechanics are designed to produce a pool of ready victims for a group of Predators.
In order to produce a pool of ready victims, EVE Online misdirects and misinforms new players, with such things as the ā€œFaction Standingā€ system, the ā€œConcordā€ system, the ā€œTutorialā€ and the ā€œCareer Agentsā€.

One of the persistent complaints in this thread has been about the ā€œConcordā€ system and the fact that it does not do what the player expects it to do, and how they would like this mechanic to be explained more fully and made more transparent. EXACTLY what the designers and predators of EVE Online donā€™t want! They want new players to be confused about Concord, because confusion about Concord helps to keep the pool of ready victims full.

Bumping is a joke in itself. Taking a much smaller mass ship and ramming it into a very large heavy object, yet ā€œtakes no damageā€.

Lame beyond comprehension.

Such as your post.

Seriously, your strategies suck. Because you arent good at the game, its broken, right?

Do you hate Elite Dangerous? Is that why you are here complaining EvE is too hard for you and not there where everything you rail about has been removed?

Seriously, what you want completely exists, but you would prefer that something other people want is removed.

Iā€™ve played EVE Online and frequented the EVE forums long enough to know that NO idea that advocates ā€œBALANCEā€ or ā€œBALANCINGā€ is going to implemented or even listened to by the Developers of EVE Online! There have been hundreds if not thousands of threads like this one, in which a player realizes that heā€™s being vicitmized by the mechanics and creates a post to let everyone know of this obvious over-sight, and they have ALL, without exception, been IGNORED.

If there is a consequence of this thread, if the developers of EVE Online decide to make any change based on this thread, they will probably implement a new NPC character to represent CONCORD. And heā€™ll kick off a celebration of Concord and how Concord keeps High-Sec safe.

The new NPC Concord Chief will greet players as they log in, each and every day and heā€™ll say: ā€œConcord is meeting and exceeding its obligations. Residents of New Eden Empire space can rest assured that they can go out and mine in their best, blinged out mining ship, you can haul all the assets youā€™ve been grinding for months to accumulate, safe and secure in the knowledge that Concord is out there, doing its job, keeping you safe!ā€

Nothing that person said was true. What are you talking about? He intentionally misses the point.

Simply not true. One guy with a shoulder fired missle can take out a 100 mill fighter. 2 guys with a shoulder fired rocket jumping up from behind a hill can take out a tank. Sure you might say some ships have anti missle and point defense systems but they can be overwhelmed. 20 gun boats of some rag tag middle eastern navy are a threat to any ship in the us navy. There has simply never been more of a time where the little guy has a such a chance to do such disproportionate damage. Besides eve is not rl. Battleships in eve were intentionally designed to have a weak spot for small ships so they they would not become pwonmobiles. But with the advent of grapples the days of single frigs beating bs are mostly behind us.

Theyā€™re ignored because theyā€™re not highlighting a problem. Itā€™s always someone sucking at the game, trying as hard as they can to blame their failures on anything except the fact they such at the game.

Game mechanics in EVE currently favour the defender and have done since before I started playing. This is particularly true in HiSec where you can practically AFK mine in near perfect safety.

He said ā€œYou probably invested the 5 min of time it takes to research the options you have to make the thing you want to do safeā€

What did I say that was wrong?

What good is a gun if you are unable to shoot?

Stop being AFK if you donā€™t want to die in highsec. Also, hi Miraculous Sod.

I donā€™t think that EVE is a joke of a game. I think its a mature , interesting and foremost unique game.

But yeah every time someone says EVE is a PVP game I spill my coffee laughing.

Not only actual PVP is a very small part of the game but the game itself imposes severe limitation to us players who really love to PVP.

The elephant in the room is that is common knowledge that PVP is probably the worst way to make ISK in EVE and that means you are left with the other two parts of the game. PVE and AFK gameplay.

A visit to Zkillboard also reveals the sad story about EVEā€™s PVP game play experience. More expensive ship against less expensive ship , large fleets again solo player and defenseless miners. Zero challange, zero tactics and zero strategy. Calling it PVP is more than generous.

And null sec , that horrible place that suppose to be stuff that nightmares are made of , is more like the land of the endless cricket song. I did a 70 jump half loop route deep in null sec to only die in the last 5 jumps back to my HQs. Suffice to say I was not impressed.

Battle mechanics also lack depth, there is very little you can do with your weapons , shield , armor etc. Coming from Elite Dangerous we do have ways to divert energy from one subsystem to another, so not being able to even do that in EVE felt and still feels quite disappointing. But PVP in Elite was not kind disapointing like in EVE but it was practically non existent.

Weird part of the game that I still try wrap my head around is why EVE makes it so hard to play a support role. The skills required are only for long term players and there is also severe limitations to capasitor etc. In true PVP games they do the sensible of making the support role the most beginner friendly because support is an essentially element of any PVP team that can win and lose matches.

In the end it hurts the game making for fleets hard to find support players. Also unique to EVE , support ships are pretty much useless outside this role , contrary to other games that support character may be fragile and not that powerful but still can do damage and stand on their own.

But I like the open end nature of the game and I am still trying to find my place in its PVP world which may be small but its definitely there with a lot of stuff going on.

Still trying to figure out why people have such a big issue with dying and losing their ships , in game. Death has been part of the game industry for over 30 years and it was never without its severe penalties to provide the all needed challenge a game need to be interesting.

But over I love EVE, I always wanted an RPG with spaceships and that is exactly what EVE delivers and it does so very well. Depth wise it rightly belongs to the category of hardcore RPGs though far from the most complex ones. All in all , EVE has its flaws like any game and I think its great the it promotes player interaction even if that interaction is mainly not PVP related.

Happy customer will continue to pay the subscription and keep this great game alive as long as possible.

The zero strategy is from idiots getting caught in the first place, or not knowing how to not be killed.
Seriously.

The only defenseless miner is one who is afk.
