“NAMES” do NOT make a Hierarchy. There is NOTHING implicitly hierarchical about NAMES.

cruiser, destroyer, battleship <<< a set of names. there is nothing inherently or implicitly Hierarchical about that set of names.
3 is greater than 2. 2 is greater than 1. and 1 is greater than 0. <<< establishes a Hierarchy. with 3 having the greatest value and being at the top of the Hierarchy.
12 destroyers beats a Maurader.
2 cruisers beat a battleship.
3 destroyers beat a cruiser.
What ship is at the top of the Hierarchy???
The Card games of Bridge and Wis would be better examples in this case, as in these games the Winner of the Bid determines the Hierarchy of the cards. a winning Low Bid, means that the 2,3,4 cards are worth more, and more powerful than the king, queen and jack. and the Names of the cards do NOT determine the hierarchy.

That Eve roleplayers still point to ratting mechanics as an excuse to downplay the roleplaying of villains like Sansha and Blood Raiders.
It’s just unsophisticated. Of course I would like to see rats behave a little better according to standings but this isn’t really the Team Murder’s fault that players are using this as an excuse to punish other players who are sincerely trying to add flavor to the game.

Frigate, Destroyer, Cruiser, Battlecruiser is a hierarchy based on the size and relative power of the ship, in both Eve and real world navies.

Of course we argue all the time, that’s to be expected, because everyone has a different set of ideals, values, wants, needs, etc. This is a good thing even if it is messy.
