What makes EVE feel like a joke of a game to you

Just sticking 1 crappy launcher with no damage or application bonuses on a hauler is a joke and it does nothing… Freighters and a few others off the top of my head cant even mount them. Not being able to effectively defense yourself from 1 enemy is an issue to me.

But having weapons and being able to defend yourself are not the same things.

And do you think that tanker would supply damage or application bonuses to the marines or any weapon mounted on it?

If you flew a Scorpion, would you fly with empty high slots?

Ill grant you freighters cant arm, but really they have no need to.

What is the situation you are invisioning that would require you to have the armaments you desire?

And i see if you are trying to emulate rl with the tanker scenario i proposed it would make sense that some ships cannot fight back. with cars and public transportation not having weapons mounts for example. They dont operate in warzones. Eve ships operate in warzones at all times thus my confusion as to why some are just helpless against even one frigate.

But this is eve were most of the ships you run into are armed. And since this is a game . Ill just quote an Npc from another game so you can see where I’m coming from, fallout 3 Lucky Harith. “See, the world’s a dangerous and unbalanced place. So I realized, the only way to bring peace was to make sure that everyone could be dangerous!”

Thats all very well but is this just a complaint about freighters?
If it is, and drawing on your RL comparisons, military cargo transports dont carry weapons as standard and naval transports rely on their fleet for protection.
Can you be specific about a ship or ships that you feel are underprotected that should be?

So you think im trying to make the game more carebear-like by making all the ships able to do pvp? I dont see how that even makes sense as a counter. I would think a pvp centric person would love to fly a legit battle badger into a fight, shank a fool and scoop all the loot. And killing said badger is an accomplishment not just an free mark on a kb…

Let me know if im off base here im tired still…

I dont know where you got that idea. Im saying that the few ships (shuttles and freighters) are highly specialised and if they were to be armed then their good assets would probably be reduced as the shuttle’s nain defense is getting out of didge and the freighter’s is its huge HP wall.

Shame that the exploits of Zedrick Cayne and his Iteron of Doom are no longer part of the group memory.

Yea I remember doing some battle hauler whelp fleets in Stain years ago. Im just curious why there isnt at least one battle hauler. Even if its a crazy skill with hac 5/blockade runner 5, thats part hauler part hac or something along that. Cargo capacity is kinda odd too in eve with how small a bs cargo bay is compared to a frigates in relationship to its model size and volume.

There are no combat industry haulers is what I’m saying and I think thats odd. Eve is a huge warzone so thats why i thought there should be some transports that are meant to travel with the likes of Mad Max and Angel Eyes into the lawless places … (Flame thrower haulers would at least look cool until you explode…)

I get what you are saying, but fighting is not a hauler’s job, even in a warzone.
Its job is to get the cargo to where its going, and having good defenses (not offenses, but ways of not dying) is more important.
Blockade Runners and DSTs perform this role perfectly well, and have no problem going into dangerous space and getting out with a good chance of survival. You could put guns on them if you wanted but hanging around when a fight starts mitigates the point of it being a hauler in the first place.

However I do always enjoy a good Q-Ship, so Id be behind a cargo-nerfed combat ship made to look like a hauler. Of course, you could always cargo tank a T3C or BS…

XD. Ive wanted a q ship from day one! Some hauling Das Boot action. Shows on d scan and overview as the t1 version. I think i need more caffeine…

CCP promised a 3 minute timer years ago, after that the ship would warp automatically, even if not aligned, when bumped and not scrammed.

Found it again after a bit of research. Look at 51:42

I wouldn’t bank on it though, it’s probably a very difficult thing to implement as bumping is as old as the game itself and in all likelyhood buried deep in the legacy code; a 3 minute timer for bumping may have amusing consequences elsewhere.

Yeah, I keep forgetting they exist.

Shuttles are much more useful though.

PVP is only one of many thing to do in EvE. My impression is different , EvE do what they can to push industrials to no man land (sometime call as LowSec) due to a lack of cannon fodder.
If you want pure PvP play World of Tanks.

This thread starts with a stupid question. Nothing makes EVE feel like a joke to me, I don’t waste my time on things I feel are stupid.

If it does for you and you keep playing it, it means you are a joke.

Eve feels like a joke when a certain russian hauler gets ganked in 7b freighters twice in the same day within four hours of each either. It is a very funny joke.

Eve feels like a joke when you’ve been on the receiving end of CCP nerfs for 5 years and people are still begging for more and more nerfs; It’s almost as if no matter how much you try and placate the worst of the worst and dumbest of the dumb, they will always have something to complain about.

The irony is, I don’t PvP. I just like the danger and risk that PvPers create without being bogged down by the drama of a corp/alliance. CCP has removed all risk and challenge from EvE.

What make it feel shallow is that everything is meant to be solved by ‘‘Bring more ships’’.
