Actually it is not. Why do you think the devs ended the scarcity. When people quit fighting and started to be real cautious. The economy was becoming real sluggish. Most large corps had their own in house pipelines. Less was selling. Now because miners can mine and minerals flow rather well. A lot more is being manufactured. The big wars have returned.
The goons, init, Brave and interestingly panfam pushed hard to end the scarcity. Now we have those great battles. People are buying. Right now I know of at least one or two of my more reliable customers are buying for their corp. I do pay attention to who has bought and how much. I have started a small sheet that charts who has bought what and when.
It is a habit of when I and a buddy had a small startup in IRL. But yes the economy runs on destruction. With the mining of certain ores being closely watched. If you know how to read the monthly report. You will see that in between all of the what was mined and what minerals were selling. You will see jsut what was destroyed and what is selling.
Without the destruction. The economy would stagnate and we would be back to an economy that would be scarcity again. Because why in all the names of the gods of my Gallente ancestors would I manufacture anything? There would be a glut. That would be worse.
The NPC 'Rats can not destroy enough ships in PVE. It takes wars and the small fights that happen every day that keeps things moving. Ganking really is just a small percent of the destruction. Even though they are, for me, one of my best customers. As are the miners.
Even as i move into different markets myself. It still is what can I sell that the destruction will cause enough repeat sales and customers. Which cruisers or battleships are good sellers. What modules are reliably more in demand. As I expand and build my BP library to offer more with more varity.
With the war between Goons and Winterco seems to have slowed down. I suspect that both are rebuilding and will soon be back to another great fight soon enough. Again those large wars are good for the economy. It affords both the large traders and smaller traders, like myself, opportunities to make ISK.
None of those “great wars” happen in high sec. None of that “great destruction” happens in high sec. You’ve simply made the case for high sec becoming fully PvE having absolutely no bearing on the economy.
Actually what happens in one place ripples out to the rest of the cluster. And as I stated most fights are small ones here and there. The big one generate a lot of fuss and gives a boost. But it is really the smaller fights that happen that make the economy sustainable. I do not believe that I really have to spell this out.
Every time a fight occurs no matter in which sec. Ships are lost. Those ships need to be replaced along with modules and ammo of one sort or another. That ripples out from there. It is as though people have no understanding how this economy operates or how a small fight in any sec.. Maybe even K space. That fight generates a need. That goes out from there. As demand is added. It all goes in all directions. Highsec is just as vital to the economy as low and null.. This should be obvious. And should not have to be spelled out.
And where do you keep pulling that from other than your ass ?
Be overwhelmingly factual about this for once, or stfu for good.
For instance, assuming 100% safety in all of highsec:
How the F. do you think “the devs” plan on working around the existing OFFICIALLY DEVMADE Insurgency gameplay mechanic of adjacent HS System Corruption by pirates ?
Getting rid of that mechanic entirely ? It’s been implemented barely a couple years ago …
Answer this one alone, if you still wishfully think FC/CCP would ditch this mechanic while pissing off a fair chunk of the game’s population just so a few carebears can have their 100% safe singleplayer PVE experience in a multiplayer space game …
BTW:
Before you say anything, Pirate Corruption does not limit itself to 0.5 systems, it is tied to adjacent systems lowsec - hisec, wherever the insurgency occurs, and can go as high as corrupting 0.7 systems.
It means we can set up gatecamps w/ bubbles and PVP freely in there without Concord intervention once Stage 5 corruption hits.
So, enlighten us with verifiable/written/spoken STATEMENT FACTS from FC/CCP, that they plan of getting rid of this official gameplay in the near future.
Wartargets (and/or ID’d hauling alts) fly into and have asset runs into HS all the time. You’re forgetting merc corps still exist and serve that purpose (ganking included), as well as anyone hunting for their respective targets and supplychains outside of the big null fights/areas.
A variable HS sec status system with variable safety is needed for so many current aspects of the game to function properly.
A fixed 100% safe one, you get an Eve Echoes style economy and a dead game.
That may cause the delusionalism that hes suffering to equate to a much larger psychological problem. I dont think we want that…it may result into much more of these posts hes making.
Show us were you got this information. If it exists at all. it should take less than ten minutes to post the link. Until or unless you post more than what you have thus far. I am going with wishful thinking.
I did a search for this. Outside of some old forum topics and few older still reddit posts. I came up with.. Nothing that says FC is going to turn Highsec into a non PVP area. Nada, zip, zero..
Er, no…you simply don’t have the brains to grasp the truth of it.
The FACT is that without destruction, all that stuff being mined will just pile up as there’d be no need for new ships. Ore prices would plummet. The economy would go into free fall as there’d be SO much stuff being mined that everything would be worthless.
But I fully understand that utterly clueless people like yourself just don’t grasp this.
What loss ? There is ZERO evidence that you have ever undocked ! You bleat and whine like a baby…whah, whah, whah its all SO unfair !..yet there is absolutely zero record of you ever even undocking, let alone losing a ship. You haven’t even lost a frikin free Ibis…yet you rant away as if you’d single handedly lost the entire US Navy to a speedboat armed with an AK47.
Far from talking about curtailing any PVP. Are actually talking about this central Idea.
“Things are never quiet in New Eden; somewhere, someone is always on the edge of war. It’s possible to ignore it, but ultimately war shapes everything: economy, politics, borders, relations, and stories. That constant motion is what makes EVE feel alive, and it’s exactly the energy we want to lean into.”
Please note the words war shapes everything.. What we all have been saying. Destruction is the name of the game. You want to be a scared rabbit in a game that is PVP oriented. That is all on you. This is EVE outside of exordium you are only going to have to either accept losing ships or be a trader and never ever leave a station. Which is fine.
