I am aware of that offer and that ccp works with people for different packages. I fail to see how anyone could decide to spend so much on plex and then get themselves banned. It honestly boggles my mind.
Oh there are a few, most just have too much money to properly know what they are doing. The types who will whale on a game, but when they find out that it doesn’t really buy you “wins” they either do silly things or just leave or whatever. RMT is also just a thing that scammers like to do.
I know RMT happens, nearly every day there is someone posting about buying plex from people for ridiculously small amounts at some website i wont even click the link to.
I guess I am just that far out of the loop as to how many cheaters will try to win using that sort of back alley business.
I normally do not participate in the events offering plex and what not, but this time I decided to go all in and even made some new alpha accounts to cash in. If I can get 4500 plex from this one event and ccp is claiming all the plex offered for these events that happen every year come from those cheaters, i just cant get my mind to accept that many people are being banned with so much plex.
I know that I am not the only one using this event to its fullest and I am sure many do it for every event that happens.
There just has to be so much plex moving through those scammers that I just cant fully comprehend.
Good morning, I wll try to do the same.
I didn’t express an opinion, but a feeling. Feelings are not debateable.
I think Plex only has value when someone pays real money for it. Giving away Plex for free means losing money. Loosing money for good publicity is fine. That event wasn’t good publicity for me.
Shooting at dummies is not really my idea of being aggressive and competitive.
They simply missed the target.
This is the conclusion i have reached by comparing the prodromes to the event with the final results and the related reactions.

I completely agree, and i even left you a little heart for that on your first post.
I simply didn’t like that content at all. EVE is much more, very much more, it doesn’t need (deserves) farces like that.
I like ‘deals’, but they often get published the day after i’ve paid the full price for my subscription. That is because i’m a mess.
Clearly, and my feelings are worth as much as anyone elses.
You have the same accent. And i’m not disingenuous at all, just exhausted
edit: i missed a little the OP. apologise to Michal Somebody
As per one participant’s own admission:
Say they use it just to sub 1 account and use discounts, then that amount can be used to subscribe to EVE for 12 years. Assuming sub prices aren’t increased.
accent in text?
get lost.
If you were to apply it all immediately as game time then it wouldn’t matter if sub prices increase as your expiry date us locked in
They think a couple bucks is what is separating buying from not buying. ![]()
Like Steam… they used to have REAL SALES that would move me to buy 10 f’n games at a time. Now its all 5% 10% 15% garbage.
If a game or subscription isn’t AT LEAST 33% OFF or more, I’m not motivated at all. Maybe it’s just for the fools who always sucked at math?
Just an idea…if maybe you could refrain from building your pile of shame any higher you would have enough money for an EVE subscription? Maybe even without needing rebates?
I can only speak for myself of course, but i don’t have enough spare lifetime between sleeping, eating and work and if i also play EVE, it just makes no sense to even consider shamepiling as something worthwhile. You will never have the time to play through those anyway.
And one day your lifetime will end and all that money in your shamepile was left unused and vanishes together will all that other steam stuff. Ok…same for EVE anyway, but there you had some fun using it.
You can plex your account with so little effort…after youve setup and gained some foot. And ultimately get to buying the 1 year or the 2 year omega once a year which ultimately takes even less effort. Free gaming. And youre saying “yes if youre a no lifer playing it 24/7”. I agree to disagree on that. Very little effort, thanks to the esi and offline tooling.
for some people it very well could be.
Video games are commonly used to escape real life stress. If money is tight, having a cheap avenue of enjoyment can mean all the world.
Simply saying get another job or whatever nonsense is just being obtuse. Not everyone has the same situation in life. That is ok. There is no shame in struggling.
Alpha accounts have a lot going for them, but sometimes it is just nice to splurge on a luxury.
it was just a little joke, but i will follow your advice.
