Simple question,but also very complicated,.

When Isk could no longer solve real challenges. When the amount of daily profit or loss became more about inflation and market changes than anything I could make in a normal day.
When I realized that others have to mine and trade, but I do not.
Good evening, @Megazor ( cool name btw )
I realized that I was truly rich in game when I had 8 billion isk to do whatever I wanted with, a few fitted Gnosis and the realization that I could have much more just by buying PLEX.
I quickly did the math in my head between my monthly income, what I usually had left end of the month and how much I could spend on PLEX and I literally laughed out loud. A couple thoughts swirled in my mind then. I never have to grind at anything, no mining, ratting, exploring… I never have to worry about losing a ship. I don’t have to join a corporation and have to answer to anyone. I can play at my pace anytime I feel like and also quit playing for days anytime I feel like. No pressure, just entertainment when and if I want it.
Feels like winning EVE to me.
The day I realised that the most important skill in Eve is confidence…I became the richest person in Eve.
Hey, heard you’re being abandoned by corps.
That sucks.
Can we make a qualifier to consider yourself rich? How about… if you dont have a 500b in assets, you arent rich. If you swipe a Visa, you arent rich.
I agree. Personally I haven’t actually bought any PLEX for over a year, yet have managed just fine…with zero grind. I have over 200 ships ranging from Punisher to Nightmare, and at least 2bn worth of ‘junk’ at Jita and 10bn in liquid ISK. I think my ‘total’ worth across 18 chars is about 40bn ISK. If I ever do need to buy PLEX again…well, for the cost of a Starbucks I can have 1bn ISK…so why spend hours mining or other grinding.
I already worked for the money in that Visa…why would I ever want to work again to gain money in a computer game ??
Because ANY of us can pretend we are rich. Its all about conversion rates. Cmon people. You cant seriously think using IRL Visa makes you wealthy. Ive heard brokies say some dumb chit before and this is one of the dumbest. It takes ZERO skill to swipe a Visa and wealth is not something you can count in your wallet. Straight-up, IF you look at your wallet to see how wealthy you are… you ARE NOT wealthy. The actual rich people in this game know exactly what Im saying. Its so strange how the rich and the poor have totally different viewpoints on money. The thing is… the poor have none and when you try to educate them… they dont know when its time to talk and when its time to listen.
To me these things are obvious. Its easy to lie to yourself but dont around trying to bullchit people who know better.
Honestly, Ive met quite a few trillionaires and most of them are seriously wealthy IRL. So they swipe a Visa and play pretend. There are only 3 people playing this game that I personally know who are multi-trillionaires and only use a Visa to buy SP on high-sp toons.
It takes even less skill to mine…which is work…for 1/100th of the minimum wage. I don’t log into a computer game to work ! I already did all the work, which is why I have the money in my Visa account
Bro… less talk more listen. IF you are mining for isk… you aint rich either. Its honestly stupid that you would even argue with me on this. Really stupid.
Btw, im not saying you shouldnt swipe a Visa and do what it takes to support CCP. IM just saying you are not wealthy if you dont make all your wealth in-game.
An even better form of supporting EvE is with content generation and leadership.
Gosh…I hadn’t realised arrogance was something one could also buy with VISA. I’d rather stick with ISK.
Just the facts brother. Dont take it personally.
But unlike some here I don’t see ‘in-game wealth’ as an end in itself…so what does it even matter what the source is ? If a person accumulates 2 Trillion ISK and they are not actually doing anything with it…then so what ?
For me, the only purpose of ISK is to buy ships and modules and their killing potential. That is true wealth in Eve. Sitting in dock with 2 Trillion ISK is utterly boring by comparison.
If you’re over 100 billion ISK, you’re in the top 1%. So pretty sure 2 trillion ISK puts you into the 10% of the top 1%. And kudos on achieving this!
When the only time I have to think of dropping actual $ on the game is when CCP offers their 2:1 extractor sale. And that’s simply as an investment - not because I need it.
Isk is meaningless if you never spend it.
