Asset safety should be a high-sec and low-sec EXCLUSIVE thing.
It is a ‘get out of jail free’ card that gets abused to a stupid extent. It is a structure mechanics that favor the larger groups at the expense of everybody else. There is no ‘taking ground’ when N+1 is the only thing that matters.
“but players won’t be willing to take risk without it” lies, and bull. Nullsec is supposed to be risky. All of the reward and none of the risk… well, that’s been the nullsec mantra for a long time now. That “nullsec gets all of the reward and has to risk nothing” has been a large point of stagnation. Because, when the larger groups have none of the risk, there is no reward for attacking them, nothing to take, nothing to gain, and only the risk of loss for the smaller guys for the would-be attack.
The idea is to promote long-term living in upwell stations vs NPC stations. I would never settle down in an upwell knowing I could lose everything like in WH space.
Can’t demand that from them. Imagine having 3 Supers, 14 Captial Ships (that you never use because you could lose them) and 87 million m³ of ores, minerals and other resources (from which you build even more Capital Ships that no one uses) on that Citadel. How should that poor guy evacuate all this stuff to an NPC station? It’s impossible!
And it would be most unfair if anyone could just come, win three timers against his station and than had a chance to loot 50% of his stuff that his alliance didn’t care the slightest for.
Never said null was bad. All I said was WH space is different from what K-space deals with.
I am a WH person myself. I love the seclusion from New Eden and I will take the con that we don’t get asset safety because of this very large tactical advantage.
My ask was reduce cap costs make sites more profitable. Slowly eradicate asset safety. Ie titans supers 1st then work your way down until there is zero assest safety.
Add more risk… but also add way more reward.
What? Fight for your station because you don’t want to lose what is stored there - or prevent the enemy from even looting it? What horrible logic is that? 0.0 alliances can’t do that. As 0.0 resident you have a goddamn right to keep all your assets safely and send them away with one click. What a ridiculous idea to fight for your own stuff, laughable. Without asset safety no one could even live there.
maybe this is correct, but i´m sure if assat saftey is not 100% then there is no structure spamming on 200 systems of your own which you cant realy use for your own.

if theres a guy with 3 supers, 14 caps, and millions of 80+ m³ Minerals then he need to defend it ! he´s the Capital / Super Capital Builder of his Corp / Alliance so there is a need to defend it.
