Where are new characters getting killed?

I do like seeing the updates @EveDataRules. Thanks for that at least. In your update on 27-2 the first pie chart, that appears to have the same time frame as your first pie chart when you started this thread, is that accurate or a typo? If so, why did N increase. Just curious.

What is interesting is that the slice of the pie seem to be pretty stable for LS and also for HS ganking as we look at different ages.

Also, nice work including the conditions/definitions for each slice of the pie.

What would be really nice, and I know you can’t get data like this would be to get some longitudinal data–i.e. data through time of a group of accounts/players. I’m guessing that is what CCP Rise et. al. have done with the data.

@Salvos_Rhoska,

In looking at the updated data, I’ll say this: I think that those killed in LS (not FW) are most likely new players to a larger extent. The reason I have shifted is the stability of the LS losses as we move from 7 days to 90 days. I’m thinking it is ā€œnew playersā€ going into LS and dying. Some go quickly and die, others take a bit more time.

Also, looking at the FW numbers I’m guessing there are a fair number of new players there too. My reason for this is that as we go from really, really new, to more experienced we see the number of deaths decline–i.e. these players are learning how not to die.

Now, there is still not enough data to do a break down in terms of specific percentages. So please, just don’t ask.

And my subjective probability assessments here could very well be wrong. These are probabilistic statements so if it does turn out that they are mostly alts…please don’t say, ā€œSee Teckos you were wrong you moron.ā€ Call me a moron for something else like not taking a vacation day on today.

Oye I give up. There’s just too much to try and dig through. I will be closing this thread.
