Where is the palatine?

The organized group still wouldn’t be able to get enough pilots to kill it. but this is beside the point - good luck bringing that quantum core there

I don’t see how you could pull it off.

What do you think would prevent a 1.000 man group to bring 1.000 pilots into that hole whenever they want?

C1 WHs are not very big. N110s have a max mass of 1 million. You will need alot of WHs to get an army into a C1.

But again, the idea is making a C1 into Fort Knox. With so much firepower in fighters, (idk about the DD), guns, and more it would literally be the EVE equivalent of storming a hill in WW2.

When the C1 folks start building capitals in it then that is the fun part. I can tell you I have seen at least 3 small indy corps who have tried and failed to do this lol.

Think Fort Knox or the battle of Sparta (aka force multiplication).

1 million “what” exactly? I think there is a big misconception about how many people you can squeeze through that hole if you really want.

Tons. My bad.

N110s/C1 whs usually have a max mass of 1 million tons for ships to go through. They are not as large compared to battleship sized WHs. Max ship mass can go through is 62k tons.

Ima stop here but one day in my EVE career I want to see a C1 WH turned into Fort Knox. Armed to the teeth with capitals, keepstars, etc. We all have our own dreams in EVE.

Okay, 1 Million Tons. Lets say it even has maximum -10% undermass. So 900.000t or 900.000.000kg.

How many ships with a mass of 375.000kg could jump into there at once?

Alot. I get your point.

It’s still battle crusiers vs capitals tho.

Which ships have such a low mass? I just checked and my loki is at 13 800 T. ~60 T3Cs is not that much. Not enough to siege. Also N110 is a hisec static. Wandering holes are even worse. It isn’t even that hard to destabilize these statics - done it myself a bunch of times already.

Yah they lower to 500k tons and they only last a few hours.

Some lower it to 100k tons

HICs with running ZeroMassEntanglers. And everone of them can refit for combat with a mobile depot once in that hole. And since they can go all in there at once, all the invaders need is two minutes hole control. two minutes. And after that everything the “small corp” undocks simply dies in seconds. No matter if they have capitals or not. It just makes “poof” before they can even lock something.

Guys we can go down the what if train all day.

Big corp controls C1-------------Very hard for invaders to secure control.

Idea is that Small indy corp grows to big corp---------------Start Fort Knox project---------------Profit.

You mean 3K tons? That is what I get from a HIC with zero-mass entangler. 333 of them at most. That is a lot. Is it enough to siege a keepstar? Do they have enough ammo? Or are you running amarr only ships? (in which case you get countered by minmatar t2 hulls).

Though I suppose being the first ones to kill a palatine keepstar has enough allure to bring people to do it.

Thats no “what if train”. If a Palatine Keepstar appears in a C1, exactly that will happen. A few hundred HICs will invade the hole at once, take hole control, bring in logis, commandships, DSTs, Bubblers. Within two days. And then the Keepstar will just go poof.

Sometimes humans need to take risks and you just never know!

Eehh, okay. Being too optimistic here. Lets say “within 4 hours” this hole is completely controlled by an invader. :sunglasses:

Bombers. Metric (redacted)tonnes of Bombers.

Warp in, fire a volley, cloak up, wait for the hit, warp out. Rinse and repeat on a mammoth scale.

While holding hole control, you’ll have a constant stream of reinforcements.

Yeah, another example. Big groups have all options they need to invade even C1 holes if they really want to, take hole control and then bring in whatever they want to finish off even the most nasty defenses of any small corp living there. And for being the first ones ever to kill a Palatine Keepstar, they would.

I’d even guess the fight over “who will kill it” will cause more losses than the Owners of the Keepstar would cause with their “defenses”, because maybe more than one group will want to make it on the killmail.

All the attackers would probably hold fire on each other until it popped.
At which point it would be a free for all. Last ones standing get the loot. And we still haven’t resolved how the 95k m^3 core gets into the c1.
