I never claimed otherwise. But no miner ever compared playing this game to wingsuit jumping.
I love the way my every encounter, whether ship loss or not, leads to changes of strategy and fitting. On the other hand, I witnessed a case yesterday where a miner lost the exact same poor fitting in the exact same spot…twice in half an hour. I spent 4 days analysing the log of my loss and what I could have done better. I can’t imagine just blithely undocking again half an hour later in the same bad fitting and hoping things go differently.
I had 7 cats try and gank me a month ago. This game has been out for 20 years. Skiffs have been OP for a long time and they still thought that a skiff could get ganked by seven cats. I can’t imagine just attacking a skiff with the same squad they used to take out a poorly fit retriever and thinking that the result would be the same.
Another contradiction from Glenduil the Miner.
It cannot simultaneously be both expensive and easy to multibox. If it were easy, then one might easily multibox profitably, which would make it no longer expensive. If it were so easy, you could do it yourself, and you would have a killboard (which you don’t have for some reason) and endless amounts of easy isk. The logical conclusion is that multiboxing is difficult and challenging.
You simply lack the competence to succeed.
I don’t know much about Skiffs…never flown one…but I do know that max DPS for a Catalyst is around 850 DPS and that’s in a quite small optimal range. On the other hand I’ve recently been aware of ganks using a Talos…which can achieve over 2000 DPS. Just 4 of them took out a Golem yesterday ( 119K damage ). Given that the Talos is around 150m ISK its debatable whether they could take out a Skiff profitably, but I suspect 3 of them could do it.
With a few mods, that ganker Talos has now joined by suspect hunting inventory.
Sure… in low sec… or against a brand new Skiff that doesn’t have a fit. Sure, 3 would be enough. Maybe against a Skiff fit for mining instead of with a shield tank… I could see that.
It’s obvious that you know nothing about Skiffs. I built mine for defense. Mining rate sucks, but I still make decent money. Three Talos ships wouldn’t be able to get anywhere close to blowing up my Skiff. Three just isn’t enough to chew through approx. 250k EHP with very good Kinetic and Thermal damage resists. No Talos gank squad in their right mind would trash 12-15 Talos BCs just to take out a shield tanked Skiff.
That’s the whole point behind a Skiff. It’s just not worth it.
Where are you mining?
In Eve. I mine in Eve. Your people have found me twice and I’m still standing. Besides- I’ve stated over and over that I don’t just mine all day every day. I do other things. So even if I did tell you where I’d be mining, you’d have to schedule it in advance or you’d miss it.
More specifically?
Why don’t we let Aiko test this on your Skiff?
I’d be willing to loose a talos to test this. What’s the worst that could happen?
My skiff blows up and I hop into one of my other Skiffs I have laying around. But I’m not going to do the work for you. When did pirates get so lazy? Want me to do all of the work for you. So sad. Lazy sod!
Tell you what- I’ll be in a trade hub (not Jita because I hate that system) on January 7th at 7. Bring 3 Talos BCs. We’ll see what happens. I’ll let you blow me up and Pod me. I’ll give you the name of the system on that day.
There. Is that enough of me doing the work for you? I’ll be there. Make sure you are too.
I never suggested that you do all the work.
I suggested a collaborative effort to test this theory out.
Why are you so defensive and salty?
Because youre lazy.
You’re salty and defensive because I’m lazy?
That’s odd.
Bro, you’re going to give yourself an aneurysm if you don’t mellow out. It’s just a game.
But seriously tho, Skiffs are tanky beasts, I am curious if three talos could bust it’s tank before Concord arrives.
Oh im mellow. I’m going out of my way to grant your wish because it’s Christmas and you’re being agressive.
High sec gankers are the worst people in this game. Children.
It’s not
Yet none of the 7 cats on your killboard. Not activate your ECM drones?
Why does Zaera get the impression Angry Miner is blowing smoke?
How am I being aggressive?
Opening a dialogue and suggesting a test and placing some theory crafting into practice is aggressive?
I was recently paid a billion isk to tell the story of Glenduil and his skiff.
Well, I don’t have skiff trained up, but even allowing for the 4% extra tank for each level, I cannot get anywhere near the ‘250K EHP’ that Glenduil boasts of. I can get fairly close to 130K…but that’s with no low slot mining modules.
Is that a secret confession that you have Exhumer and Mining barge trained up ? I don’t have either, which is why I get way less EHP. Or does that site also show the equivalent EHP for various levels of skill training…which would be really handy and something Eve itself should have.
