Why do EVE players take this game so serious?

His ChatGPT is failing again.

Is this a miss post? You will be tried with treason or just disappear without a trace. The C.I.A will not consider this as a mere joke or mistake.

I think there are more who enjoy seeing the galaxy burn.

I disagree.

They’re just louder. Volume isn’t the same as majority, and chaos doesn’t require a crowd—just a few people with matches and no fire code.

Oh stop being so boring - get some matches, hop in a catalyst and have some fun

Okay good for you.. So you are just investing time..

At the same time your generalization is wrong. I do not take the game seriously because of using real world money. I am mostly a casual player. RL reasons why I am not on more. I would be on a lot more otherwise. It is not the money that keeps me coming back. It is the enjoyment.

Before you make the tired argument that is what I tell myself. The answer is. no. It is as I stated.

The money is beside the point for me. I play any game because it fills the time. As a retiree I have that time. I could sit and vegetate in front of the TV. Being spooned fed whatever slop the networks want to send my way. Go down to the senior center and watch as I and others slowly go down the path to dementia. For me that horrifying in a way that you youngsters can not really understand. Empathise. sure. Imagine. maybe. To really understand what that means that you are at that age when it can creep on you. doubtful

I choose to play games that are more than simple board/card games. I play for enjoyment. If a game can engage my imagination and challenge me to think. Then I will, in all likelihood, be there for it.

While I am on a fixed income and have to budget everything. From vet visits to groceries to gas to bills in general. I make room for the wife and I to have this luxury.

The money for me is, again, beside the point. It is the enjoyment. I pay for my sub. Which I won’t have to pay till around June 2026. And plex my account with either real world money and as I have not hit the upper reaches of the 100 billions, occasionally with plex that I bought with Isk.

CCP for all it faults I find that the game is worth playing and enjoyable. The real money I spend on the game is my small way to help keep the hamsters in pellets as it runs on the hamster wheel.

Should the day come when Eve online is no longer enjoyable. I will do as I have done many times in the past. Stop playing, cancel my sub, and uninstall with no rage quit forum post.

Who did that?

Not that many people desire chaos.

Plenty of players. In the year I have been playing I have seen no less than 6 people come on and rage quit for one reason or another. Some for having one to many ship were blown up. Others for something that either happened or did not like in the game. Sometimes because the time sink was to much for that person.

Chaosssss.. MMMMM…

I’ll post a thousand pages Grok generated rant when I rage quit on April 1, 2026.

Catalysts are the in-game equivalent of the short-bus.

I am like super adorable and friendly , but for some reason people RAGE at me then dissapear , never to be heard off again.

I honestly have no idea why.

Imagine if blowing people up in-game would result in them getting a 24 hour time out on the forums.

I dunno Zaera. Personally I always feel honored to sell a ship and tons of ammo to a ganker. And ventures to miners. It gives me the warm fuzzy feelings in the wallet..

Are players so delusional that they actually think that other players fear them?
