Why do players use cyrillic alphabet?

100% agreed.

Why these last comments?

You seem not to support this idea, but you dont explain howcomeā€¦ Please explain.

I already explained. It seems you struggle to read English as well so maybe you should brush up on that?

Basically. Yes.
This thread like watching a car crash in slow motion. Thereā€™s an inevitable misery in it, but itā€™s fascinating watching the debris flying around.

EVE is a global game.
There are many languages.
There are many glyphs used in these languages.
Many corporations have people with multiple first languages and cultures.
The game feels better for that.

The irony is that given the backstory of New Eden - multiple empires arising after thousands of years separation, the existence of multiple languages, writing forms and cultures is perfectly correct.

OP: If you want something colourless and bland then go and eat blancmange. Eve is too rich for you.

You only say that denying folk the right to own language would be a bad idea.

Well yea, I dont care. The Cryllic alphabet must go.

  • I like the people but I dislike their language as it is elegible in open chat forums, - and thats it.

No other things about it, just block cyrillic aplhabet in common chats, and thats it.

And I donā€™t care that you donā€™t care, you donā€™t get to deny people their language. This isnā€™t North Korea.

Maybe their conversation is none of your business?

So how do you feel about the Japanese alphabet? Or Greek? Korean? Chinese? All of these can be used in-game (and are used in-game)

Also maybe, just maybe the Eve game came to a standstill with evolution just because of these virtues you value so high and which dont have any high value of gamin experience overallā€¦?

You should probably just stop posting tbh. Or keep digging your own hole, whichever you prefer.

Could you say that again in English please?

Tip of my toe - block all of them.

Yes Im the scarecrow.

But tbh only cyrillic alphabet is used commonly, and I guess thats only due to new cyrillic alphabet playersā€¦

Keep it simple guys. And remeber voice chat is free for all.

How about you make it a suggestion in Features & Ideas or even the Little Things thread, asking for an option to hide non-english characters. This is the best you can hope to achieve.

Have they heard of personal conversations or eve mail?

Heya, could you provide me with a link? - Im kinda new to this forums, just had this idea on my mindā€¦

Features & Ideas

Follow the format as described by CCP Karkur.

If 2 people are sitting in the same room as me speaking to each other in a different language, Iā€™m not going to ask the to leave the room because I canā€™t understand them.
Iā€™m not gonna be that person that stands up and yells ā€œyou need to speak American!!!ā€

CBA reading this train wreck. If nobody suggested it Google translate is an amazing tool.

General courtesy. If you go to their home systems and wish to communicate you post in their language. NPC channelā€™s should be in English IF they are talking to you. Best of luck with your bigotry

Actually here in Australia that would be quite rude if both are capable of fluent English. Unless it was a lunch room or some such and they had their own table
