Heh, the only reason reddit fanatics (you know who you are) continue to post here is to instigate forum flame wars and derail threads, hopefully getting them locked.
As I know other forums, at least half of posters in this thread would be banned elsewhere where I had really serious discussions. With these forums here CCP is not serious at all.
I DO like Reddit. I use it constantly. It should not be used for any official statements unless those statements are also made here.
I’ve seen upcoming game changes confirmed on Reddit but with no acknowledgment here, bug reports made on these forums going ignored but getting dev responses on Reddit, etc. It’s ridiculous.
The minute they do, r/EVE will be a ghost town and players will have chosen a new forum outlet. The whole point of reddit is CCP employees have no say on what gets posted. One reason you can get CCP attention there, they can’t just delete threads to hide fires.
Oh they do, I have had a detailed post on bumping deleted, when I detailed the impact of bumping to trick into duels on a sample of players when it showed an 80% attrition level, in other words they left the game. No they most definitely do not ignore controversial posts on this forum.
So this post is very valid:
But yeah this is true of Reddit
Though I often look at down voted stuff for that reason…
Current moderation on unifficial eve reddit, which players AND devs frequent and post on more than here, has a thread with a stickied 2 gold star post by a moderator that says “F*g”.
That alone disqualifies the current eve reddit as an official interface between CCP and players, pending atleast the removal of that post and dismissal of that mod.
Im not a SJW, but this is nonetheless 2018.
You cant say ■■■■ like this, especially as a mod, on a format/ownership that claims to deserve Devs attention more than the official and officially moderated forum we are engaging on here.
Its a PR disaster waiting to happen at the very least, and makes official foruns defunct
So… it’s a choice between ten no-lifers controlling a forum with their lightning reflexes over the thumb buttons or a couple of volunteers trying to enforce a restrictive set of posting rules.
Why do Devs prefer a player run/moderated format where “F*g” is a stickied 2 gold star post by a moderator, than the official ISD/Community Support staffed forum?
What is hard about using this forum?
Are Devs incapable of using it, whereas I use it just fine?
As to population, eve reddit has population that would and should be censored on any official platform. What is said on eve reddit would frequently ALSO not be allowed ingame, including the pinned 2 gold star comment by a moderator referred to above.
Ive half a mind to start emailing screenshots of EVE TOS/EULA violating and forum rules non-compliant eve reddit posts (especially by moderators) to gaming and news media.
I dont care how, why and with whom a player-based eve reddit moderates itself, but I do care that CCP employees patron/endorse that by posting there.
