Salvos Rhoska: Ive half a mind to start emailing screenshots of EVE TOS/EULA violating and forum rules non-compliant eve reddit posts (especially by moderators) to gaming and news media.
That’s what triggered me. And you can’t tell me that’s a good way to get more players back to the official forum. What i would like to see.

Yeah it is a controversial statement, I did not agree with it either. But still starting off like you did is not the right approach. You did say sorry in the paragraph afterwards, so…, but it sets a tone which creates an edge and off things go. If you want to disagree effectively do it as you did in your third paragraph.

And CCP pays lip service to that, but their own forum is pretty toxic and troll riddled too.

Everyone knows eve reddit is a player moderated, biased format without official oversight or culpability.
Everyone also knows its a stinking cesspit of all manner of crap, and yet, still, CCP staff posts there more than here.
Thats a real problem you cant just wash off with a teaspoon of water.

He is not a Dev, he is the community manager responsible for this forum and and relations with the community, and that flippant reply was flipping the bird to a fair number of people in his community. I think it was seriously ill advised.
The game is not dead, in fact it is getting down right interesting at least in nullsec as long as the servers can handle it, which is the biggest issue in terms of Eve at the moment.
No blackmail in question here.
Just that perhaps its time the gaming media saw how bad the situation has gotten, when Devs prefer a documented cesspool run by players, over their own official and duly moderated forum.
As I said earlier, its a really bad choice and bad risk for CCP staff to patron/post on eve reddit as it is and has been with its player based moderation to these kinds of results.
I wonder if CCP could close the reddit subforum if they will find something defamatory to the devs and company. 
Possibly, especially if they setup an official reddit instead.
But for now, staff seems happy with favoring that cesspool rather than here.

This forum is the boring schoolyard with hall monitors and snitching strivers. And then there is the dirty parking lot where the cool kids hang around. Some devs don’t want to be seen with the lot here. It hurts but you have to accept it.

That felt rather good actually…, my god did I just stoop down to your level, this forum and cretinous posters like you Linus are starting to affect me negatively…
These last couple dozen posts have helped me pinpoint another thing that is wrong with the posting on this forum which leads to it’s lack of popularity both from devs and players. It’s almost all attempts at manipulation.
On r/EVE people are talking about the game, there is no real expectation that CCP is going to see what people are posting and somehow “see the light” and change what they are doing. Its more light hearted (if crazy) and you can actually get useful information, much like other forums that came before it like Scrapheap.
Here though? Its the opposite, some of the people who come here are ticked off and depressed at something in or about the game (and have been for years, everything from bumping to ganking to wardecs to afk cloaking) and they for some reason think that CCP is listening intently to what’s posted. So they play the manipulation game in hopes of outmaneuvering their in game enemies via out fo game means:
-Appealing to CCP’s wallet (if CCP gets rid of X, SO many more people will play! X of course being whatever it is I don’t like)
-Invoking the children I mean “new players” (X is not friendly to new players, get rid of it and more of them will stay!!!)
-Warning of impending doom because X new game is coming and it means doom unless you do something about X, with X being , again, the thing I don’t like (the current is Star Citizen but the previous list is very long, everything from X-Rebirth and No Man’s Sky to JumpGate and Black Prophecy)
The problem is, CCP isn’t listening, this forum is a pressure valve for the most neurotic community members to safely (and impotently) blow off steam and nothing more. That creates a “Frustration Feedback Loop” where the people who have the most problems with the game and CCP get ever more frustrated and angry as years go by and CCP doesn’t do what they want.
No change in software is going to change anything. Making this forum like reddit or moving the official operation to reddit would have the exact same result; the most troubled, frustrated and manipulated posters are going to go to whatever is labeled as the “official platform” and crap it up with afk cloaking wardeccing complaints. Whether they get closed by ISD, downvoted by other players or flat out ignored by CCP, it doesn’t matter.
Eve the game is not dying. Despite CCP beating and abusing it regularly, still it goes on (hum the song…hum it) as it has become more than just a game. I hope to be playing eve until the hamsters are finally adopted out to new homes.
These forums, however, are suffering terribly from a terminal case of suck and should be killed for reasons of mercy.
This character (and they are characters, not “toons” grrr) has been posting on eve forums since sometime in 2012, I think, but now it’s time to join the ranks of the players enjoying the game but ignoring these “forums”. I gave this new “forum” a year to try out and for ccp to fix it, but…well…nope… I really dislike it, sorry. No, it is not a case of me not wanting to adapt to the new. I can assure that in eve and irl especially I have gladly adapted to many new things. Eve forums are just really bad now, imo.
Thank you all for the entertainment and learning all of you glorious forum nerds have provided for me. I would bet that most of you would be good to have a beer and conversation with. I wish you all the best and would urge all to enjoy EvE the game with its warts and all.
Perhaps I will see you out in new eden somewhere. I use this character in the game a fair amount, so it is possible. I have forum posted using him mostly. If you see him in local say hello.(if, of course, we are in a place that has local) If I am using one of my other characters and do not say hello, I’m sure you as an EvE player will understand. Let new eden be like valhalla where we fight and kill each other then sing and drink together later that day. Same if we pass hauling stuff to market or such. Give a wave from your freighter as we pass in the pipe.

You are seriously obsessed with that one small thing. You bring it up in almost every post you make. There are so many more kinds of complainers here. Like you, for instance. You are always (ironically) complaining about complainers.
Did you get picked on by AFK cloaker complainers when you were a kid? Did they DOX you? Or call you names? Or what?

You know I only mention afk cloaking when I’m talking about the ‘common complaints’ like wardecs and ganking. I also try to mention afk cloaking in fairness, as in saying “it’s not just high sec that has stupid people, see afk cloaking complaints”.
I don’t’ know man, you know you and I don’t care for each other, I don’t know why you reply to anything I post. You’ve kind of always been that way but IMO it seems like you have become totally a creature of these forums. I grew out of it, I guess I got tired of the nonsense.
