They teamed up with another company but they are super expensive, £100 for a 6inch model, is just silly, I could buy a massive lego set with more parts for that much
Indeed people made rifters and scorpions out of lego. Rifter had even gathered enough votes on lego site to be later revieved, but LEGO said it was not fitting for their (children) users. 
Also you can do those out of paper and cardboard.
Dont have to use 3d printer or glued plastic models apparently.

Get a cheaper quote, you remind me of customers at my work “how much? That is insane.”. Ok, good bye then, customer phones back 20 mins later after a quick google and agree’s to same quote plus the $30 I added for the previous phone call.
It might cost $1 to plasta cast a 400k run of action figures or tv remotes but you are asking a company to stop a line, possibly make a machine tool and for what 1k run, you are lucky with your $100 quote.
If you feel the need to be rude on a forum to make your point, I’d say it was you who ahd the problem.
Quite frankly if you speak to customers that way, it’s a wonder you have any customers left.

I took the time to frankly explain why companies are not inclined to provide you services at a loss.

I’d love some model kits where you can build em and paint them yourself. Id love to make a little tristan or legion or rifter. Models are niche though you have to price them to be approachable. Id pay 40 bucks for the model kit. Hell depending on the size and quality id pay more but that shipping is ridiculous… 70 bucks? I had an antique billhook shipped to the ass end of nowhere in the states from England for half that. Mind you it probably took a month to get here but still.

Moulds are very expensive to design / create. For something like this, it’s unlikely economical to create a mould. Looking at the site, $50 is totally reasonable to me. Personally I’m more on the collectors side of the aisle. Were I looking for something like this I’d expect something very high quality and be prepared to pay 4-5 times as much the price these are.
