Why is also so frustratrating to share a pinpoint locations with anyone else?

I’m trying to “gift” a simple location I scanned down to a specific person…

I tried email.
I tried dragging the location on the chat windows… "it used to work)
I can’t mail it
I can0t contract it.
I saved it into both my location, and shared location.

What the hell is hoing on??? Habe I missed something around these past 10-20 years???
Because I haven’t used that feature (for example to sell wreks sites to professional salvagers)))

It’s not possible anymore. At least it’s not immediate and direct as it was before…

I found a +10 years old guide which isn’t working…

PLZ CCP, cpould someone working with the GUI help me sorting this out with a short
explanation of how it all works for these ba
SICS SCEANARIOS I JUST listed?

Sell a bunch of pins to someone else, known or unkown, it could see your contract in the live feed, and accept it… Or you could see it is flying a salvager ship, and ask him if he needs some extra wrecks…

Send one or a bunch of pins via MAIL to a specific person.
Drag and drop don’t do nothing.
Create a contract for the pinpointed location never worked for me… it was just an hyperlink to my shared folder with all sublocations…
I

I could give permit for always shared folder view with someone I truest, even if he’s not in my corp or alliance.

Nothing of these is now possible???Or Im doing something wrong, and someone could be so gentle to explain to a 5 years old what0s going on???

And proceed with a basic updated guide:

Point 1: bla bla bla
point 2: bla bla bla

You simply share a folder with someone.

This is how bookmarks used to be shared before 2019.

The last 7 years however you share bookmarks by placing them in a bookmark folder your friend also is connected to.

You can make your own shared bookmark folder and ACL, put your friend on the ACL, drag the folder to chat or mail and if he connects and onlines the folder he can access all the bookmarks you put in it.

I use a shared bookmark folder like that between my alts, so all have easy access to the same bookmarks. And a second folder for when I wish to share (or sell) a bookmark to someone else.

neither did work.
What happen in 2019? The UI GUI server got on fire???

So folder do need a structure in particular?
I already have a SHARED folder,
but the main problem is that nothing appear as hyperlink anymore anywhere when dragged,
this is TERRIBLE…

You cannot drag bookmarks to chat anymore, that got changed in 2019.

You can drag it to another bookmark folder.

Removing user friendly feature, and making it more complex
is going to push away players… it’s was already difficult…
but tnx for the reply… I’ll try to STUDY what is going on…
it looks a PHD is not sufficient this time..

Unbelievable… hyperlinks are one of the legacy features most loved and used by everybody…
where is the rationale behind that decision???

I can only think of Bots… but it’s affecting the positive side of players in a bigger way…

yeah but I can’t drag the folder to a private mail? To a private contract?
I tried for one hour straight, all combinations possible…

Yes, it sucks, the old system was much better.

If only the new system was added instead of replacing it.

Short version; You basically create a shared folder and then all bookmarks between players can get shared there.

Shared folder alone is not enough. Think of it this way: there are two sides, the bookmark side and player side.
On the bookmark side – thebookmark needs to be in the correct folder.
On the player side, right players need to have access to the correct folder.

Your shared folder is not automatically shared with whoever you want to have access. You need to add their names to the access list. Once the player has been added to the access list, THEY still need to ONLINE the folder on their end. You can only have two shared folders online simultaneously.

This system has its pros and cons. You don’t have to be in the same station in order to share bookmarks with a person. But the number of shared folders you can have online at the same time is only two, so if you’re using many bookmarks from different sources in a short period of time, you have to juggle the folders. Which is annoying.

i think its three.

It is 3, it is still not enough, needs to be a dozen I’d say.

Got this to work through my alts, but it was cumbersome, and it could be headache inducing working this out with other players. You made a BM, you shared it, it was simple as that.

You could drop it in a can and someone could loot it.
