If you could have been more specific, and less antipathic, I would possibly have agreed, and maybe could have helped you get attention on some of those changes you want. But I cant do anything with what you have provided so far.
Ok, you go ahead and watch those keynote videos. And once you know what I and the rest where talking about we will find something you can help with? Ok?
Salvos, I don’t think Ima is being especially vague or even holding an uncommon view. I mean, even the wider game media has discussed the slowdown, or depending on your opinion, abandonment, of the vision for long-term Eve development articulated by CCP Seagull when she took the helm:
I think it fair to say that CCP did reasonably well moving towards that goal for a few years, but progress then seemed to grind to a halt, or at least it appears that way from what little communication is coming out of CCP HQ. After reading those minutes and listening to Aryth on TiS talk about the CSM meeting, I have pretty much given up hope on the five-year plan being completed any time soon or perhaps ever.
Now there is something to be said about just enjoying the current game and that is true. You shouldn’t keep playing Eve if you aren’t having fun with some (probably vain) hope that the game will change and become super-fun for you in the future. But the sense that the development of the game is going forward is also important, especially for an ambitious virtual world project like Eve. If you buy-in to a virtual world offered as the end goal of their game development efforts, it is perfectly reasonable to be disappointed in CCP for failing to realize that (and be side-tracked by significant new monetization schemes), and disillusioned with the direction of the game development to the point you don’t want to pay or even play anymore.
I’m not going to second-guess CCP decisions or priorities, but I will be critical of their apparent inability to communicate what they are doing to the player base. If they have given up on space colonization and are going to move the game somewhere else, they should just tell us and present a new mid/long term vision for the game - the five years is up. Instead, we seemed to have descended into some development quagmire where stuff still is being done (although not really communicated to the players until shortly before release), but more and more of it seems unrelated to the overall vision we were presented with in 2013.
There will be a lot riding on this upcoming Fanfest keynote for a lot of players disquieted by how the development of Eve has gone over the last 2-3 years.
But since I do know what I want it is still possible (given a minimal amount of cognitive capabilities) to understand what I want if one makes himself familiar with the topic I was talking about by consuming the relevant source materials I mentioned.
But you are obviously not required to do so, I just don’t see how any further conversation on the topic with you would be of any use otherwise.
Can you point us to what you are speaking of? Clearly we are talking not about the same thing. I was talking about the space colonisation themed plan as outlined by CCP Seagull on multiple fanfest keynotes over the years.
Then you know what I and many others where talking about. You made an important step towards the capability of actually discussion the topic of this thread.
So what vids and what parts of them do I need to watch to “understand”.
Tell me that, and I WILL watch them.
Ive probably seen most of them, if not all, before already, but I will re-watch them.
PS: I know you wont bother. You prefer the ambiguity of vaguely gesturing at 5yrs of EVE changes, without being specific. You’ve never been one to come up with solutions either, just whine about ambiguous problems and crap on the suggestions of others. Whelp, this is your result. Live with it.
