Speaking of sharks. Fleet of Orcas or miners with logi escorts are tough to gank and can be deadly to gankers. HS Miners are just too lazy or too dumb to do PVP. They are just good at whining. That’s the problem.

That’s not necessarily true. But there has always been a negative impression of mining as an activity (afk, botting, multiboxing, etc).

No one cares about multiboxing. If anything, it is encouraged because it is more pilots in space doing things which means more content. Not to mention, we all want the game to continue to be developed, the more subs FC has, the more funds they have to develop the game.
Botting takes away from all of us, no matter your “profession”. I hate the plex black markets, I hate RMT and I hate botters. Botting is still VERY much a thing still to this day. We whiffed on a guy not too long ago because all three of his mackinaws went into his orca at the same time. It was very obviously inhuman and input broadcasting.
At the end of the day, people want to have fun. Some fun is PvP, some is rotting in a belt. Truthfully, I genuinely do not care about what people do, what I do care about is the health of the game.
If you want to bot, I think instead of a ban, they should have an extended suspect timer if you are caught botting. Make the suspect timer the length of the ban. Treat them like low sec status, they can’t dock anywhere in hisec. This isn’t about making PvP it is about allowing the community to have fun while also minimizing harmful things to the game and community. Either way, they can not log in for the remaining time or they can risk it and let the community rip them to shreds, same results.
As for being AFK, that is as much of a choice as undocking. The ancient texts state “you accept PvP the moment you undock”. This is the biggest rule of eve online and why 90% of people still play this game. On a fundamental level, nothing effortless is rewarding. You can’t tell me that someone AFK in a hisec belt is genuinely happy playing the game.
Reason 1: The core fun of eve isn’t the actual mechanics. We all ■■■■■ about things the devs do. At the end of the day, the most fun you will ever have in this game is because of the people around you, be it allies or enemies does not matter.
Reason 2: The entire market it solely reliant on the perma loss in the game. As much as hisec indis want to complain about PvP and it being “not their thing” (which is fine to begin with and no one is upset with this), they are entirely dependent on PvP to happen. It seems a little entitled to benefit from something without being subject to it. Narcissistic even.
Another slightly off topic thing I feel does not get talked about a lot is how often a new player comes into the game, joins some random hisec corp and sees that there is nothing to the game other than mining in hisec. Those people will quit just as fast as a blooming industrialist dying in his first venture. I condone killing ventures, it is a right of passage to die in your first venture, but targeting new players purposely is a line MANY gankers and hisec pirates won’t cross. If anything, we tend to give them isk and say “hey this was what happened, this is how I caught you, this is what to look out for in the future.” Every single PvPer wants the average skill ceiling to go up, it makes fights more fun, it creates an adrenaline rush, it puts more combat competent pilots in space.
I have met maybe two people in my career that genuinely thought killing brand new pilots was the most fun thing and they went out of their way to do it. These people tend to be disliked by the pvp community because it is a frail ego with no ass to back it up. Like boxing a paraplegic. Hurray! you won!

Brother, your never going to get positive feedback from the gankers. The hate has grown like a cancer.
I have also raised a few posts ever since coming back to the game. It’s also just buying me time before i hope onto another space game which is around the corner.
What i would like to see is Fenris suspend an account over time or more if you gank more than once in high sec. That would be a better balance. If they blow your Maruder or barge it takes cost to get it back. What cost do these guys have on them ? nothing just a respawn back to station and away we go again.
You can see how unbalanced the game is and how the rules favor them more than us.
Sorry to say mate, it’s just gotten worse. The surgeon has either given up on the cancer because it’s overspread and killing the beauty of the game at least in high sec.

Someone doesn’t know how busted Rorqs are over multiple combat ships. At least he is right in spirit. Balance is pretty out of whack on some things.
