You randomly teleport to a system and HOPE it has the right kind of event.
In my case, i was hoping to Ice mine.
What i got was EVERY FILAMENT WAS TO COMBAT SITES
Worse is i have to wait 15 minutes to try again for LUCK.
Waste of time.

The sites are everywhere in high sec, no filament required…
That’s assuming they’re the appropriate site for what you’re flying.
Which they often arent.
Don’t know what you’re whining about. Every system in my region has tons of scanning, combat, and mining sites. I finished half the reward track in a single ice site by myself…
What i’m complaining about is i spent several filaments, went through many gates, and most sites were combat.
What i’m complaining about is that this is RNG crap and not a real event.

The storm I’m currently in has all 3 sites available in each system…
Use the Opportunities window instead of flying around blindly. It shows all sites in your current and adjacent systems and you can filter by type, name, etc. And use the Metaliminal Storms filter in the map to make sure you’re staying inside the storm.
The winter event is supposed to have several site types. Exploration, Mining, Combat, etc.
ALL I GET IS COMBAT.
I have blown 3 filaments in my exhumer and all i see are combat sites.
What a giant waste.
The RNG is bad. What’s worse is there’s a forced 15 minute cool down.
So if the sites i get are useless to me, i have to wait 15 minutes to try to participate in this event.
Not a fun event.

The storm I’ve been in since the event started began with 8 systems affected, then moved to 11 systems and is now back to 8 systems… Each storm system has had all 3 types of sites in them…
Are you using the filament to jump and then don’t move around between systems? The ice sites deplete pretty fast, especially if you’re in a high traffic area. You gotta go from system to system. I have had 0 issues finding them.
I think CCP ran out of time. The christmas event just became filler content. Next years will probably be better.
tbh, all thoses events is waste of time and shouldn’t be in sandbox game.
And the high sec filaments? Absolutely nonsence ■■■■■■■■.

Meh, just wait for the bpo to drop, continue to do what you normally do, too many aggressive people stealing, being rude, and general negativity that always happens during events, I don’t really participate anymore.
No, these are actually pretty cool, jumping into unfamiliar places in a multi purpose ship can be fun with some of the things you can find.
Lost a ship by popping into a combat site I’ve done dozens of times, but in this area the npc was the same but not the amount of ships you usually find.
High sec filaments are fine, if they required people to be in high sec to activate the filament.
As it is now high sec filaments are a ‘teleport your goods to HS free’-ticket.
Ridiculous.
Alternatively they could be fine and fun if they made the user suspect upon jumping.
