Worse Halloween event in a game - thank you EVE business dep

I just did tetrimon site with my loki, no changes to fit. Difficulty wise it is around L4 missions I like to farm (anti-amarr mission full clear). ISK wise, it is worse.

It is the worst event but not for the reasons he states.

The rewards are meh from the blood gauntlet. the tetrimon is a bit better becuase of the warclones.but still not worth the time. Also the spawn rate on sites is pitiful.

Thanks for asking. They already quit.

They didn’t exist in the first place. Once someone’s butt is in a T2 battleship they’re far from being a rookie.

I would like to remind you that CCP added PLEX you can buy for $ and then exchange that to ISK in game, so you can buy millions of SP injectors, enough to train into T2 Battleship in one day, that you can then take out and get ganked easily.

Yes, and? I blame CCP for this behavior, but the player is not a newbie.

He can for sure be a newbie, as I have seen such players and I have information from first hand talking with them. Some people do have a lot of money and they dont want to wait. Result is they lose marauders very easily and fast.

The only problem I see here is CCP profiting off the backs of such impatient and ignorant people.

They players are not newbies and marauders are not newbie ships.

This is not a problem. CCP can profit off those who have enough money. The responsibility of fully explaining the game to a new player lies on community and on you tho, as CCP cant handle it to full extend, only basics, and they omit few important facts intentionally probably to not discourage new players to pay their money in first place. Problem is CCP omitting those facts, and the existence of these facts they dont want to talk about to new players in game. Especially ganking in high sec and botting in null sec.

That is not true. More true answer is more complicated. There are some players that are newbies and they fly marauders, if they fly marauders, then these ships can be newbie ships because newbie flies them too.

Yummy yummy nothing like a baby marauder ship to rejuvenate our souls with their blood.

Fully disagree. People need to take personal responsibility of themselves, their education, and their money. So CCP can offer these paid pathways no problem, but I don’t have to like their monetization strategy.

You and I owe zero to newbies and rookies. The fact that I’ve been mentoring one is because of my own free choice, not because of a false sense of duty. It also fails to scale, and this failure is not on the community but on the newbie (see my second sentence of this whole section): they have to take the initiative to get themselves educated.

No, a newbie sitting in a T2 battleship doesn’t make it a newbie ship. A newbie sitting in a Titan doesn’t make Titans a „newbie ship“. It makes it a fool sitting in an expensive lossmail in waiting.

Ganking this babyface marauder is a very good lesson imho. The loot can be considered payment for a highclass teacher. Learning by pain is - scientiffically proven - a lot more effective than any other form of learning.

Now now Io,

Don’t forget, EvE is pay to win, and someone could purchase all the skill injectors and plex to meet the requirements to fly a T2 battleship on day one…

Alot of the loot is also dependent on RNG. But overseer loot looks to be about 100mil/hr.

This is really keeping with CCP’s metrics on their HS events. The Yulai event for Christmas will be probably 100mil/hr target.

The other stuff (idk like Guardians Gila?) is way more harder I hear.

Not when it comes to PvP during this event. so CCP made it fully intentionally, they really want to reward people with a lot of tornados or bombers, multiboxing.

??

I was talking about the loot the commander drops. :joy: I don’t care about the 90% drop PVP whatnot.

You know better. Smh I know that you know what I will say and there is no need for me to explain that quote.

I know you were writing about NPC. Why you dont care about the loot from players tho? Its a great way to make a lot of ISK recently.

You realize that the overwhelming majority of all kills are not done in HighSec, right? Their goal is to reward all those activities. CCP couldn’t care less specifically about the handful of multibox gankers still left in the game.

Besides that, we successfully baited ganksquads in this event multiple times already by making them attack and fail. They tried to kill a Legion of my main, a Tengu of my alt, a Kronos and a Vargur of my corpmates and everytime they gave us a nice additional income from all their T2 guns and Damagemods. You can easily turn these mechanics against them, because they create greed in the ganker’s minds. Greed that make them willing to bite more often than usual.

Yah if anyone really looks up my zkill I am pretty much a PVE guy. I love business in RL so I don’t have the largest of interest for getting loot out of other players.

I am super-duper excited for EVE Vanguard and the PVP aspects of that. But with my limited time PVP in EVE takes so darn long from fitting the ship, everyone prepping in fleet, to actually roaming and maybe finding a target. Eventually it leads to a nice KM but I don’t get ISK out of it.

Time constraints really kill it for me in PVP. So I respect the work gankers/pvpers do in the EVE ecosystem.

My ONE regret is not doing PVP stuff during the trig war. I loved that mechanic where some HS systems turned to LS for PVP. Sadly we didn’t do shield PVP. (That also kills it for me as PVP is slanted towards armor and not shields)

Well, I PvP mostly on weekends, as you can see on my killboard, and its a relaxing bomber activity, dropping bombs on n ull seccers. I would reccomend it to anyone out there. Basically one day afternoon I can fully spend on it.
