There are just a lot of people out there who are very vocal about their frustration and they feel justified in trying to get others to be frustrated as well. The Facebook group has the same problem, as does much of this forum.
It’s sad, really. I’ve been playing since 2006 and I really want this game to succeed. There need to be more players, not just more alts. I get that a lot of the new stuff is geared toward getting new players in the game and I’m all for that.
I think the game would be better if it went back to its brutal roots (look at the success of more challenging games like the Dark Souls titles) and advertised to people who like that type of content. I’m not a marketing genius, and I assume they have someone way smarter than me all over this.
Personally, what gets me to log in and stay in are exciting things to do, especially if it involves other players. I’ll log in for daily rewards, mostly out of FOMO, but often times just quit after claiming the items.
The game ebbs and flows. I hope that CCP is able to breathe life into it at a time where things seem to be cooling off, rather than do things that don’t bring new players in and drive veteran players away.
FWIW, I’ll keep playing as long as there’s content that isn’t ridiculous pandering (Dr. Who…) and there are decent prospects for interaction with other players.

Funny how I joined shortly after it hit its 100% interest value. It last hit a 50% interest value nearly 8 years ago and hasn’t even come close to even a 25% interest value in recent years. It really is trending towards irrelevancy.
Perma ice fields returned. I miss the giant rocks that would never pop and the communities that formed around them…ice should be a far more valuable resource than it is currently. Can you imagine flying ‘any’ spaceship without H20 in liquid, gaseous, or frozen form? I can’t.
