Most players block duels automatically now.

While duel mechanics are irrelevant here in null I too ignore duel requests of ‘fight 1v1 at sun’ in local chat whenever I’m just flying in my mining, hauling or exploration ship.
I’d do the same in HS, duels are just an invite to a PvP fight and unless I’m looking for one (in which case I could turn it on) I wouldn’t want to be bothered by duel requests.
You could always ask people first before you send them a duel request.
