Zarzakh Data Sites would allow solo-explorers and Contracts of Opportunity to find the very bottom of Zarzakh’s soul.
But only if CCP Games is able to take a 100 AU solar system and convert it into land based terrain. Thus, the reason why so many keys to Zarzakh’s Soul will need to be collected. The Capsuleer’s ship enters the Pit of Zar and then searches the landscape using pre-coded warp to beacons. Each beacon would be similar a FW complex, small, medium or large, capitol ships not allowed to engage the beacons but could still navigate around in the atmosphere looking for targets of minor to extreme lethality. The ground targets would be bunkers, launch bays, all coded with attributes taken from ships in the game but built around structures, terrain vehicles and creatures from the Hell of Zarzakh’s mind. Such creatures would be the 100 foot tall Zarzakh’s Death Fell that is able to create a bubble around itself to trap all ships in the bubble while Death Fell Minions, coded using the Gecko Drone, launch from the Death Fell’s mouth, basically the docking point of a station and attack the fleet until destroyed or the bubble collapses because of a timer. There would also other living NPC’s like Tongue frigates that fire gaseous based missiles that on top of the missile damage, toxic gas damage is also taken.
The terrain itself would simply be a large surface collider with terrain and features added, there would be a total of 100 such dungeons that are pulled from the overall number of Wormholes that would bring the total number of wormholes holes down to 2,504.
The Pit of Zar would not be easy to access but would take at least five months to find enough keys to unlock. But once you have unlocked Zar’s Pit, your unique Capsulleer number would be stored in the Pit Database.
The terrain would be barren, with the only memory of trees in the form of craggled, shambling and writhing trunks remaining. The trees would produce toxic gases of varying damage types. Some of the trees could be destroyed to create openings in the gas field that would then allow the Capsuleers to fly under the gas clouds, the gas clouds create instant destruction the deeper the ship navigates in the cloud, but maybe not. Oncer under the gas cloud canopy, the explorer would then search for loot centers to raid.
There would also be deep chasms where only certain sized ships would be allowed to access, my like FW gates. The walls of the chasms would be lined with varying damage types of gas-based damage, turrets and Zarzakh based ships and things that no one, save the strongest want to encounter.
Some locations would require the Capsuleer to use the FPV camera to navigate and engage NPC’s. Rewards would be top end mutated modules taken from Triglavian wrecked ships and Pirate ships. This dungeon would also be a dungeon where you could collect AUR and ISK Tokens ranging from 5-100 AUR and an undetermined amount of ISK, blueprints BPO’s, Keys to ESS banks, all of the really fun raiding stuff in normal space.
What a Pit of Zarzakh Ground Walker might look like.
…but if you are lucky enough and have the best exploration and probing skills, ship and drink, you might, might come across the Eye of New Eden, a station built by an unknown race that allows Capsuleers to dock, repair and remain and manufacture needed modules and ammo in the Pit for up to a month. Only the smaller haulers are allowed, no freighters.
At certain times Zarzakh’s Demise would generate crushing gravity, similar to Abyssal space that would require the ships to exit and then re-enter after a certain set time. The Eye of New Eden would not be able to protect capsuleers but only non-biological items such as ships. During the Period of Crushing Gravity the dungeon would reset and be replaced by an entirely new dungeon that would need to be explored.
