I’m Zintage, and I am running for CSM20 again this year. My primary focuses are on nullsec aswell as both subcapital and capital fleet balance.
I’ll attempt to keep my Eve story short for all of our sakes, but it’s a long one. I started playing Eve properly in 2015, joining when a grand strategy YouTuber I watched at the time attempted to form a corporation. After going to war with the highsec mercs for several weeks using 200+ man frigate fleets to fight t3cs. The YouTuber eventually gave up on Eve, finding himself overworked running such a large organization. What was left of this organization was reformed into Rabble Inc. and later Rabble Alliance. While in Rabble we decided to try living in just about every type of space possible. We fought Russians over moons in Molden Heath, lived in a c4 wormhole, waged a Poco war in highsec with Eve uni, and even took sov in delve also later querious during the casino war. Eventually, I left rabble and joined GSF at an invite from a friend and learned to FC large-scale fleets. After a few years, my corp at the time left GSF to form Freight Train Diplomacy that lived in Vale of the Silent for a while. I eventually came back to GSF during the siege of the 1dq1 constellation.
My area of expertise is most certainly Nullsec, though having lived in all areas of space, I generally know enough to understand what people from other areas of space want to tell me about. Some bullet points would be
-
Fleet doctrines and fittings ( I run the GSF fitting team, and on CSM19, I as well as others, pushed quite hard for balance patches on ships to pull us out of the FNI meta)
-
Multiboxing ( I regularly run 10+ accounts)
-
Capital and Subcapital FCing ( Recently, I have taken several steps back on subcap fcing to allow others to FC, but as they say, FCs make the worst linemembers, and I like to backseat drive
)
I’m running for CSM20 to continue the work we have been doing on CSM19, bringing diversity and skill back into fleet doctrines
Many of the goals from my past CSM post ended up happening, even if they weren’t exactly how I suggested they happen.
Armor Vs Shield Balance
I still consider this a work in progress. The recent armor rig changes to increase armor speed have led to a belief that armor can be more viable. This meta hasn’t matured yet, so it’s hard to say I am still personally of the belief we need to lower armor rep cycle time a bit and increase the overall hp/sec repped of armor ships to get them in a happy place.
Dread Balance
This largely became moot when we got the first real buffs to supers and titans in years. When I first ran for the CSM, I didn’t think we could get super and titan changes through, and I was very happily surprised. I still believe that the PNI should have its paint bonus changed for a large application bonus instead, for a healthier meta where carriers/supers are the better option to use against battleships than to make dread/titan guns apply.
A Major Balance goal this time around is carriers
Carriers have largely been in a bad place for the past several years. They are a boosting platform with some of the weakest links. Overpowered in large numbers from tether, but generally considered useless if you have less than 40 for fleets. Booshing and conduiting have added a lot of flavor to carriers for mixing with battleship fleets, and I feel like we can take that a step further. I would like to see the carrier lock range reduced to the point that they can’t skynet to gates from citadel tether, while still keeping enough range that they can be dropped outside the 300km lock range of other ships. I also believe carrier command burst should be buffed to match the best-in-class subcapital links, and to encourage close-range carrier use would like to see them get a version of the supercarrier burst projector.
My discord is zintageenaka for DMs about anything. I’m happy to chat, and if you have any bugs, feel free to throw the EBR number my way
