Luckily your opinion is irrelevant. It does not need to do whatever you think it does and DOWNTIME is perfectly fine, easily rememberable and absolutely logical too.

They don’t ban anyone unless there’s conflict between the players sharing accounts like for example one guy stealing everything off his friend’s account.
It’s one of those grey areas as far as they’re concerned

Because you would have events ending in the middle of the night game Dev time. Are you going to start paying extra on sub/Plex to cover some devs to stay an additional 6+ hours to ensure the event ends smoothly?

If CCP will accept OP suggestion, it will be unfair for us, players, who cared to log in according the rules of the game to get reward. You change the rules after match - you are cheater.
00:00 for you can be 06:00 for me ad EVE downtime interval is choosen according to users numbers. So downtime will affect least of game population.

Based on the advertizing I saw, nowhere where CCP promoted the event did it say that the event would end at downtime and not at the end of the day.

Every single event EVER in EvE used the dt clock. Deal with your own ■■■■-up instead of whining here.
