Your own perspective is not the only one watching and reading. try to be considerate and give others the benefit of the doubt. TILL YOU KNOW they are an asshole, at least treat them like they are a nice personā¦

EVE is preferentially attractive to a certain type of person. People who feel the need to be competitive at a perhaps-unhealthy level. People who feel the need to one-up and belittle other people in order to bolster their own ego. People who think that there are points to be won in everything, and that putting someone else ādownā inherently moves you āupā. People who feel that āharvesting the tears of othersā is inherently entertaining.
The basic design structure of EVE has a lot to do with this. EVE gameplay tends to weed out the people who find these attitudes annoying, and retain the people who get off on it.
So sure, there will be days when you are a bit on the grumpy side, and these attitudes totally rub you the wrong way. There will be other days when you can just blow it off because you know itās mostly people with āissuesā trying to deal with their issues by being dorks/trolls/sarcastic d***bags.
The thing to keep in perspective is, those people are the loud, annoying, minority. There are plenty of great, generous, giving/helping/caring people in EVE. There are plenty of creative, thoughtful, funny individuals. They just donāt go out of their way to be āin your faceā all the time, because they donāt have esteem issues they need to prop up.
Any time you get irked by some troll in the forums/chat/wherever, just remember thereās 2-3 very nice people flying around out there, just waiting for you to bump into them.
(Edit: Oh, and sometimes the creative/funny/highly active individuals are also the ones with the most competitive/pushy/annoying attitudes at timesā¦ just check out some of the old song/video productions. So you gotta take the community and their quirks as a whole.)

I am not going anywhere because my Eve fun does not rely on the social aspect of the game. But I think it is a shame morons with such attitudes like yourself, who ruin it for others, get to enjoy the game. Its no bother. I have let go of the attachment.
