Incredibly it seems like this thread is about complaining that Eve is not sufficiently pay to win. You can spend 500€ and lose to someone who hasn’t! How unfair.
you’ve made a suggestion that represents a major change in game mechanics, then answered the inevitable question with an utterly inane question of your own.
that’s some pretty poor form debating right there. you’ll have to do better than this if you want to be taken seriously.
If it wasn’t him I would assume it was meant to be a pun (“warp disruptor” - “point”) but knowing who we are dealing with based on his post history it is clear to see he neither has the wit, good will nor decent mindset, he simply tries to stir up drama by throwing random nonsensical ideas around just for the sake of it.
If noone can explain the point of warp disruption why is it the game? And why do every other game not have perma stun mechanics? The answer is not something you would like but give it your best try at CCPsplaining it. Its the only thing this forum is good at

There is no single ‘point’ to it. Ostensibly it is to prevent your opponent escaping…but It is also a trade-off in your own ship as that disruptor module is occupying a slot that could have extra shield capacity or sensor boosters or whatever. Which, in turn, could determine whether you do in fact choose a shield fitting or go for armour. But then again, one would have the same issue with neuting modules…and so on. Everything in ship fitting is trading one advantage for another.
Likewise your opponent will have had to decide do they want to be able to align and flee before you show up, and thus fit inertial stabilisers, or do they want to jam your warp disruptor or use other ECM…and so on.
So really, warp disruption is part of a complex interplay that determines the fitting of each ship before they ever even undock. The various trade-offs in getting the ideal fitting for a particular task are probably one of the most enjoyable parts of Eve. I personally think most battles are won or lost before anyone even undocks.
Since when warp disruptor is a stun? It isn’t. It only prevents you from warping out, assuming you have no warp stability. You can still shoot back, activate MWD, and even use MJD.
Did you get pointed by a intereceptor and had no way to counteract? That is on YOU for not fitting anything for that scenario (and a flight of RF Warriors or IN Acolytes would solve that problem)
With the caveat that you rarely know what you are about to face.
And yes, that mid slot could have been used for something more useful. Yet at the same time if you don’t fit it your target is likely to escape.
Again, you’re the one arguing for change. You should be able to argue why the change is needed or would improve the game. Putting the onus onto others by demanding they explain why it should remain is backwards.
In any event, it only disables your ability to warp off. So it’s not a “permanent stun” as you rather lamely describe it. Try again and come up with an actual argument.
However, as I’m a little bored on the bus: if there was no warp disruption, all pvp combat would require you to be able to deal enough damage to a target to destroy it before it can align and warp. That would be very boring and artillery ships would be the order of the day.

Even in wow rogues layer CC to basically stunlock. Make it an N+1 affair and now the stun lock is very real.
My rogue meet and greet in wow. Sap. the smart call is to NOT break it. You sit there for seconds. Don’t burn your CC breaker trinket on this, rogues really like this.
Then I cheapshot. then I kidney shot. Then I blind. Your char is down many seconds basically. Cheapshot and kidney I get to attack the target free fire really.
Make it an N+1 affair and now the stunlock comes. Fear, roots, slows etc.
Eve point your AB/MWD still works. Eve scram…ab still works. And there is mjd. And you can fight back. Eve is fairer there oddly enough.
For the BS pilots I’d recommend less pve drones, more pvp ones. Isk per hour takes a hit but you run drones better suited to play with your new “friend”.
